And since Tekken 8 punished defence by that logic its a pretty trash "fighting" game.
But the way Tekken does it it's not it.
Literally THE reason why tekken was so cool was that the attacker had a big burden of risk and could be easily blown up. With this gone the whole identity of Tekken is gone.
it certainly surprised me how giant part of the community is in line with this.
And also as mentioned, each character feels the same. And that they lose their identity and their weaknesses are almost non-existent.
I miss the days when the unga bunga players are being punished for their carelessness. That's why a lot of players are going back in Tekken 7.
I haven't played Tekken 8 but I will try and see it for myself once I got a laptop that can run the game. But I don't hold my breath for now.
Tekken 7 isn't dead yet.
None of these numbers mean anything. If they're even true. You have a history of lying on here already, like you did with the T8 ingame numbers, pretending the game is doing well when in reality the playercount is really going down sharply.
But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here despite my better judgement and assume this is true, that still doesn't mean anything. A bad game can be popular, see FIFA (or FC as it's called now).
And for a game that's trying so hard to capture the casual audience, it sure isn't doing all that hot.
T7 is a very flawed game for sure. But at least it's a proper tekken game at the end of the day. If you're good enough you can actually tell the player by their playstyle.
T8 however is a homogenous mass where everything looks the same, plays the same and puts you asleep. T7 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> the dirt under my fingernail > T8
Fighting games have the privilege of not needing many people to be playable.
After all, all you need is 2 people to have a match.
So even 600-1000 people is enough for a fighting game to be playable.
If that wasn't the case, arc sys would have gone bancrupt decades ago.
