T8 might as well survive a decade.
In 5-ish or so years Tekken 8 will die.
just look at the roster, look at yoshi, look at how toxic the players are, how bad the netcode is, and how cheaters of all sorts can do whatever they please without a slap on the wrist.
tekken 8 is a great game in concept, but the company behind it, is not caring to make it the best game it can be.
they made something decent and are now resting on it, while the money comes flying in with expiring season passes and broken FF characters that nobody asked for.
Somebody should write a thesis on it, already.
because this company is no longer being led by the japanese.
Not sure if true but does make sense.
My guess is that this game'll dwindle down past the mainstream and sort of settle on Tekken's usual playerbase and stay around there pretty consistently for 6 years. As for when they replace it, tbh I'm not super clear. Maybe when the next engine comes out since 7 was on Unreal 4 and 8 is on unreal 5.
