for example, the giant swing, when king grabs your feet and spins with u for tossing u really far, does a TON of dmg, like 90 dmg, but if u tech roll once u contact the floor, u take way less dmg, like 40. king have all this secret tech knowledge checks that u need to practice. same with his grabs. most of the time when a king comes running they will try to do the 1+2 face kick, u can break it with, 1+2.
there's a lot of guides for anti king tech.
- You NEED to duck under df2,1.
- ONLY duck f2,1 if you KNOW it's going to be f2,1, otherwise just block it.
- Train how to break throws in practice mode. Setup all 3 throw types: 1 break, 2 break and 1+2 break (don't focus on giant swing) and set the character to randomly do them. With just 15-20 minutes you will start seeing a massive difference. Do this a couple more times or every time you feel you can't react to them.
- If his back is against a wall, EXPECT a giant swing (press 1 to break). Otherwise say bye to half your HP.
- His low kick string is extremely minus on block.
- His "attack speed" is on par with the rest of the cast, I'd say slightly slower comparing to other. An i10 jab is an i10 jab no matter the character.
- His recovery depends on the move itself, not the character in general. This is true for every character. You need to know if the move can be whiff punished with your reaction speed.
- You have the best learning tool in the history of Tekken: Replay tool
