Clive is not OP
He's just boring, there's no room for creativity, and he melts against people with good rushdown capabilities (Dragunov, Heihachi, etc)
If you're thriving with him good for you, but I don't think he matches all the hypes

he is bad compared to noctis
Not OP? In the recent STL tournament in Korea, Mulgold (Clive) was trashing Ulsan (Dragunov) 2-0. Ulsan had to switch character to Clive and cameback to beat Mulgold (3-2). This is in the winners finals.
yeah no one cares about how pros play, nor should it factor into this kind of discussion. Most of people playing this game will not get to Mulgold/Ulsan's level anytime soon, I'm never getting to that level with my zero sidewalk tendency because I can't ever remember that thing exists. Might explain why I have more hours on GGST than this game, but I digress.

Clive is really strong, but I don't think he's T7 S3 pre-patch Leroy where he has 0 gap.
You rush down character which can kill you from range 4.0

Safe 13f demon breath also
You can literally parry all mids and highs with that insta recovery parry that gives big damage and builds up meter for him. So no, rush down characters have to be careful and guess when he'll pull out his parry and turn the game around.

That is true but we also had tons of Clives at the beginning and almost all of them lost - often to some lower tier characters. Grand Final was Drag vs Law.
It's still too early to tell how high he will end up. I personally see some good moves like f1+2 but mixed with serious weaknesses when s-tier characters usually have no serious weaknesses.

I wish everyone had a parry at least like that. The game would be much less single player.
Clive is OP, definitely top 5, brain dead easy mode pay to win character

The fact that the best Dragunov player couldn't deal with Clive's nonsense using Dragunov, considered one of the best if not the best character, speaks volumes to how OP Clive is. Is he beatable? Of course he is, but it takes so much effort to do so.

Feels like half of the players tried playing Clive and zero Clives won the tournament. His biggest nonsense is F1+2 and it’s really not that bad.

It’s really too early to say for sure but I can’t see anything in him that can put him in the same tier as Yoshi, Jin, Nina, Drag. F1+2 is not good enough.

Don't get me wrong. He is not broken, but OP claims he is not OP and I beg to differ.

Yeah that was actually the saddest realization I had in T8 so far. That Clive is actually balanced. I still cant believe that we arrived at this point. Even that f1+2 propably isnt broken on Clive - its just so incredibly boring that they just gotta change it.

What a sad timeline we live in.

Absolute neutral control with b2 /b1+2/ running 2/ff2/ ss12 + best parry in the game and good lows is just too much
