BTW it depends on what kind of changes they will made. If they will change completely the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanics of the game they will probably reset ranks.

In T7, they were doing a soft rank reset on every new season, by lowering everyone's rank by 1 color, so if you were Blue, you'd be lowered to Ruler.

Ofc, that's what I meant with "pure ranked system", so the "you can't demote until X rank" and the hidden streak bonuses are gone.

We have people in the Red/Ruler ranks who are there only because everyone actually starts at Yellow, and that also needs addressing, otherwise, there's no point in resetting the ranks.

The whole rank mode is in dire need of a complete overhaul because it sucks

If you simply grind and learn nothing, you can eventually hit blue ranks.

This was done for engagement. Not for competitive functionality, not for QoL.

They want casuals to feel good. But it has backfired I think. Because now all the players who legit should be yellow or orange/red in 7 are now all pumped into purple and blues in 8.

Most of the casuals have left. So now, only people who care are still playing on this dumb ranked system.

The fact that streaks are negatively affected by plugging, as well as the streaks leading to completely random situations where you lose once but are plugged on twice leads to further point loss is still a mystery to many.

It's simply stupid.

It ruins integrity and makes playing online a chore if you care at all about a jpeg.

The best advice I can give is to play lobbies, quickmatch and ignore ranked until we see what happens in season 2.

I think it is okay if you start with this system and then remove it aka now cause it is +- year from release so season 2 should fix that

I would be fine with a reset. If you kn ow what you need to know, you can get back to your true rank pretty quickly.

Doubtful since rank dont have too big influence on matchmaking. They could reset prowess too. That would be cool.
