but yes i already knew the franchise the first game ever was sf x tk and tekken 6 the second was tekken 7 and tekken tag 2 but honestly my favorite still are tekken 7

I would also say that Tekken 3 was (is) the best Tekken we had so far. Had nice additional game modes (Tekken Ball and that other mode, I believe it was called Tekken Street or something).

And the game was all about pure "Tekken" and it's core mechanics, you know? No walls or wall bounce, no rage art / rage drive / rage moves, no special move meters, no fireballs and no exaggerated over the top special effects and lightning effects.

Man, I wish so much so would remake 3 with modern graphics, online gameplay for all modes and maybe a slightly bigger roster.

yeah ithink u right. a remake would be very nice. they remake so much today. all resident evil games... so why not tekken3 toghter with story mode from tekken 1-3. without special effect good idea!

Tekken 4 is great in terms of presentation and story. The intro prologues and endings made the game worth playing through with every single character.
Once you consider competitive balance it falls apart since a lot of people didn't really like the environmental damage.

The first Tekken game I played was Tekken 2. It was fun at the time, but it didn't age well.

Then Tekken 3 came out and blew Tekken 2 out of the water. The only things I didn't like about Tekken 3 were Dr. Bosconovitch's fighting style and Tekken Force Mode. Other than these two relatively minor flaws, it's my favourite game in the series.

A lot of people's favourite game was Tekken Tag Tournament 1. It's considered by many to be the best Tekken game of all time, better than Tekken 3 even.

Also, Tekken 1 sucks.

Mate. If we're just talking sales numbers than MK11 and smash bros are the best fighters. it's not as simple as just going by sales alone.

Notice all the "Good" Tekken games from the competitive perspective is based on the Tekken 3 model. That alone should tell you something.

On top of that, Tekken 3 was the first tekken that got taken seriously as a tournament fighter which also out did virtua fighter 2 and hanged with popular 2D fighters. Both were big deals back then.

Point still stands that just because something generated high sales numbers doesn't necessarily mean it's the best iteration or the best in it's field. Especially when ignoring factors like tekken 1 - 5DR which were only ported to playstation consoles whereas the ones after were multi-format.
