Why hasn't Harada ever considered making a classic compilation of all the Tekken games?

With the hype of Capcom releasing so many of their classic fighting games for modern platforms, you would think this would spark some discussion over at Bamco on capitalizing on the nostalgia of older games by making a remastered collection for old school fans to play as well as introduce those games to newcomers.

It would be a wasted opportunity if they didn't jump on the current trend of releasing remasters of those old games.

There is a whole discord server dedicated to playing old Tekkens online via emulators. T5, 6 and Tag2 are all playable online right now. Emulating them is really easy.

It's all casual entertainment. There is no serious game in these communities. There people are happy to play even at 30 fps with drawdowns.

Moreover, every game in the franchise received at least two or three patches, not to mention arcade release T6 is unironically one of the most balanced Tekkens around, the fact that Bob got away with a few over the top moves and Lars had a safer Ark Blast doesnt really undermine the work put into it.

It doesn't matter how many patches there are, these games are still broken. Combos in T6 are the craziest

This has nothing to do with emulation. Graphic elements in 3D games are stored in the same formats. Just taking a model and placing it in another game has nothing to do with emulating the entire game

Every older tekken emulations plays on 60fps with zero downsides. You can even mod them with higher fps.

In case u didnt know. When i said they ported TTT2 to T7, its not models... They ported whole characters with their moves with their TTT2 properties. Characters such as Ogre, Baek, Jun. So literally TTT2 with no compromise in T7. The modders could even tweak them to make them more 'T7' by adding screw mechanic to them

They have 100% considered it, Harada even tweeted about it a few years back. People only remember good things about the old Tekken games. But many of them have never played these games at a competitive level. If Bandai released these old games today and added ratings similar to Tekken 8, people would start complaining even more. In T5, in T6, in TTT2 - the balance is completely broken. These games never received a balance patch. If a rating appears there, everyone will start playing exclusively on broken characters, it will be much worse than T7 and T8.

Bandai does not release a collection of old tekken because they are difficult to emulate on modern platforms. Without any problems, you can adapt games from parts 1 to 5 to modern hardware. But there will be big problems with T6 and TTT2. Capcom is simpler in this regard, they have 2D games on primitive engines

Some people still love those games regardless of the jank, that also may be what made some of those games unique.
