Though to be fair it's a Japanese game first and foremost so obviously they want to represent the home turf. Still though I hope we see someone with something a bit more unique like Steve, Yoshi, etc.

Chloe.

Who cares? Neither are Chloe.

Chloe was one of the popular female characters in T7 and she was extremely popular in asian regions despite being one of the weakest characters in the game.

Azucena is....well...she isn't, according to latest stats for September, she's pretty much in the middle of the pack when it comes to female characters.

Well the conversation we were having was about having more unique fighters-and Chloe was a done-before concept before she even debuted. If they wanted a female dance fighter, Christie had been done. Also as a side, I'm pretty sure I have a good idea of why she was popular and it wasn't for her fighting style.

She's an idol, idol culture is extremely big in asian regions. According to Wikipedia, in Japan alone, idol industry makes around 1 billion dollars a year, and between 50% and 70% of their ads feature idols.

Plus, she's cute as a button.

Chloe was popular cause of Kpop, Korea and japan love her so she will return.

And she would be a great addition next year, If I recall Evo Japan will be May 9-11 in the Tokyo International Exhibition Center.

Season 1 last dlc will start in December - march. So Season 2 will probably be...

Japan in April to May: Spring

in the United States and United Kingdom, spring months are March, April, and May.

perfect time .. Like i said Lucky Chloe is VERY popular in the east..

So season 2 DLC 1 Lucky Chloe
DLC2 Julia (summer) (least that one makes sense sales wise
Lei (Fall)

(Rodger / Alex) Winter or vice versa.

Least character visuals and whatnot from what the leaks since all we have is a face and some side clothing.

But Harada said no season 1 guests but suddenly pulled Heihachi out ..

So Lucky Chloe will prob be the start of season 2 if they are doing venue based location Hype..
speculation but

~ hope that Helps :D

Azucena is more a hiphop dance, MMA fighter who loves a perfectly normal and *safe drug (JK cause both sugar and coffee are not normal just normalized and profitable).
Kind of similar to Jamie in SF6 with his dancing and herbal gourd.

Okay but being an idol isn't a personality trait. I think there's a barrier here where you think I'm talking about whether or not she might get into tekken. I'm talking about her being a boring addition to the roster, whether she gets in or not. Not only do we have 2 dance characters already but Azucena already has the "energetic dancing fan service" market cornered. It'd be as pointless as adding Heihachi as DLC.

Oh I'd imagine Lucky will be the Bipolar like Tira was in SCVI.

Lucky is the Asia-merican stereotype.. as well.

Part of why East likes her shes the joke character, bad guy sidekick comic relief character, kind of like Harley Quinn.

After all shes associated with Kazuya so her career is pretty much ruined so shes gonna snap and we saw a glimpse of this personality trait with her ending as a reward.

:D Hope that helps

Okay but Azucena is also a bad guy sidekick comic relief character who sided with Kazuya and uses a dance style. The difference being that Azucena has a tolerable screen presence.

Idk if Azucena is replacing Lucky I could see more of a Asuka Lili situation with Lucky and Azucena.

I can see Namco being cautious around stereotyping japanophile culture being as a majority are japanophiles in the LGBTF+ spectrum, even if the LBGT don't grasp the emotional distancing of eastern vs western cultures but aside point..

*Japanophile has a high degree of appreciation for Japanese culture.
Where "weeb" is more of a "negative connotation", hence avoiding that term.

Azucena feels like a safe placeholder to wait out the political storm, which looking at the assessed track record of America, BLM Toxic masculinity Karen's body positivity and the current spectrum of LGBT media..

2 years is usually the boiling point before varible "trend" falls off of the conscious; usually media viewership decline and profit decline.. 2023-2025

2025 just seems like the business safe bet to have more "politically questionable characters" make a return..

And Azucena isn't siding with Kazuya for Kazuya, shes doing it for her brand association.
Lucky Chloe has no brand, and Kazuya more or less ruined Chloe's identity by proxy, she will be inherently jealous which will trigger Lucky's brat personality.

Chloe has no direct, personal connection to Kazuya. Neither does Azucena.

Lucky Chloe sided with G Corp to promote her brand as an idol. Azucena sided with G Corp to promote her brand as coffee mascot. They both use dance fighting. They both have an energetic personality. They both worked alongside JACK-7s. They're both kind of airheaded and only really care for their brand and their image. Seriously, Azucena is just less annoying Chloe. The only difference between them is that Azucena is more bearable.

and Business wise?

To say what exact reason would they eradicate a well received Korean and Japanese loved character..

Namco is a business not a fan service

if it sells absurdly well and will be at low risk why wouldn't it be DLC?

makes no sense from the logistics demographics aspect of sales to not.
She would also need little reworking and retooling by Season 2.

Again
I don't see your point..

You are classifying martial arts and dances, as the same thing .. Since when are all dances the same.
Personality wise Lucky will not be happy and we have all seen her flip out at Eddy..

She is not the same behavior as Azucena.

Julia probably will. There have been leaks as well as shes the Girl next door spiritual, multicultural, orphan, good nature, streamer.

Pretty much the 100% all heart retro and modern audience.

Christie is Caporeria.. literally 0 to do with Lucky's style or Azucena, or Julia..

Nothing to do with Julia tbh... :feeling:
