The good news is Dragunov and Nina will get nerfed...
The bad news is that we have to wait until patch 1.08 for that to happen...

Well, they won't be the only characters nerfed, but the goal seems to be to reduce damage, so it's decent.

Read patch notes. Literally zero nerfs to Dragunov and Feng. Get ready for more boring T8 tourneys full of these 2 characters.

Read the first sentence under the title, not just the title.

If you want proof of what I said, check the link here, and read the 2nd sentence in the "Changes" section.

They only said in start that they will give dmg nerfs to Dragunov and Nina but there is no dmg nerf for Dragunov in his section. One is just minor change to his move hitting from sides or back and the other is just a fix which goes in his favor. There is no dmg nerf. They just fooling people.

I never said it's in this patch.

I said that it's a good news that we got confirmation that they will be nerfed, then the very next line is that we have to wait until patch 1.08 for that to happen. It's literally said in the patch notes that their nerfs will come in 1.08...

This patch was 1.07, so of course there's no nerfs for them in it....

that's not what a nerf is. It's called a bandaid. He will not be affected as much as you think he will.

His playstyle will stay the same, his main issue.

Damage nerf is fine.

Dragunov still gonna be great, same as Nina which is fine, no point in nerfing characters to the ground(like Drag in Tekken 7). Good that they're showing restrain in balancing.

Tbh I doubt they'll do it, but I really wish they nerfed him to the ground, let only the loyalist playing him. We've all already had enough Drag from the entire T8 lifespan.

And if 1.08 nerfs end up being only damage nerfs he's still gonna be broken. His damage is outrageous but the main problem is in his kit and moves properties.
Kakihara 3/set./2024 às 13:05
That's not good news. Red rank redditors complaining and getting characters nerfed is never a good thing.

The main Issue W Dragunov is also that some of his moves have multiple broken proprieties. If he keeps doing what he does best, do you really think nerfing only the damage would solve the issue entirely?

Same with Nina, her neutral game is hella oppressive, and not for her damage, she also goes 200 mph
What moves?

His wr2 now weaker than most approach moves.

His qcf4 no longer perform function of closing distance.

His + moves no longer have any sense.

Pretty much anything he does releave pressure from opponent.

His pokes and throws massively lack damage, especially with other characters having entire combos from throws. His powercrush is a joke.

From last several chars I played against everyone deal half life from the combo with heat burst and then can capitulise on that. While dragunovs heat basically only make him more vulnerable.

His db3+4 is just ridiculous having risk of hellsweep and punishment of snake edge with profit of a hatchet. While Xiao has reward of hellsweep/snake edge and risk of hatchet.

Pretty much everything Dragunov can do jab will counterhit.

No proper counterhits, no natural low mid/low high like law or hwo, no locking down, nothing.

This man... Une vraie pépite.

Please never change.

Drag probably is going to get more comprehensive nerfs when the season 2 balance patch drops. They were clear they don't want to do any more major balance changes until then, so slightly reducing his damage in the meantime is an ok compromise.

Honestly the only major issue I have with the game atm is Drag overtaking competitive play, which sucks as a spectator. Every other strong character just doesn't have the kind of placing he does in top 8s. He's the only character I think really needs a nerf before season 2 comes, so I'm glad they're hitting him a little bit.

I don't think he will be broken if you tone down his damage. The only really great or "broken" move he really have is qcb4 but i doubt they will do much to it, since they nerfed already pretty much everything else and now they will reduce the damage(again), which imo is fine. Like i said he still gonna be very good.

You can't nerf a character without end and expect him to be good/competitive. They already did that in Tekken 7 and in the end pretty much nobody played Dragunov. It's quite clear that they want to avoid the same scenario in T8.

And i get why some people really hate Drag coz he is dominating some/most tournaments but i dont think he is that much better than lets say Nina or King or probably few other characters but that's just a matter of opinion and everybody has one.

Just to be honest here, i do main Drag(since T7) and i play a lot of Asuka lately. So arguably the best and the worst character in the game.

Also @Zagryzaec buddy, please stop. you really are embarrassing yourself and on top of that you also make us(Dragunov players) look bad.

Honestly I'd be happy if they just toned qcf4 waaay down (yeah you can lower its damage, but it's still gonna be broken with +7 ob, mid, huge range, hits grounded, chip damage, heat engager, heat dash launcher, tracks to the opposite side of wr2... that's just bonkers) and nerfed Drag's forward momentum, like they did with Azu wr3,2. Half the times you step wr2 or heat smash correctly and he ends up too far away to get punished, that ♥♥♥♥ is unacceptable.
