Will combos from Tekken 5 carry over to Tekken 8?

Tekken 5 was the first Tekken game I've owned on the PSP, and recently I've kinda want to touch that device and game again, just so I that have something to play while I'm out in the yard with my dogs running around.

Fighting games aren't really my thing and I don't plan on training harder than last time for Tekken. But I do want to be able to put up fight just a little (assuming some friends invite me over to their house and play Tekken 8 out of the blue), haha.

The question though is will be useless to try and learn the combos in Tekken 5 just so I some combos to use in Tekken 8? Note that I don't want to get too in depth with stuff like frames. I just want to be able to throw combos in both games for now.

Combos are different in different Tekken parts. Tekken 6 had bound, Tekken 7 screw, Tekken 8 tornados. They all work differently.

Don't pay much attention to the combos.

There is no clear yes or no, some may work, some not. Some moves have changed, some are added, some removed.

I still do one of Xiaoyu's combos that I learned back in Tekken 5, but I had to adapt to the changes in move list, buuuuut it is more or less the same combo.

I still play previous Tekken games every now and then, and tbh I enjoy them more than Tekken 8. If you've ever had chocolate that is a little too sweet, that is what Tekken 8 feels for me XD

Ahhh, hmmm. Well I was hoping to practice a 50 string kazuya combo.. Waste of effort if some moves have changed.

I did 10 hit combo by Yoshi in 3 different game, all at once. Tekken 3 PS 1 emulated, Tekken 5 PS 2 Emulated, & Tekken 8. using 1 controller for all of them at once.
