blue archive is your great example? tekken is 30 years old. Lets see how Blue Archive is doing in 2051. Also isn't Blue Archive big in Japan? It's also a GACHA game wtf. New comics like Invincible are doing great. That's the way it's always been.

I think gatekeeping is what has lead to this. Fighting games havent capitalized off the massive growth of the videogame industry they've actually suffered. The fighting game communities are not growing because it is a difficult genre to get into without being surrounded by people who already play. Every year the cost of making a triple A title climbs in price due to high visual standards. If tekken 8 didnt look as good as it does people would be crying about it looking like a last gen game. Finding ways to bring new players and get them to spend extra money is the only way to keep the publishers happy enough to fund a game at this scale. There is no way to please everyone.

Blue Archive was first to come to mind as I was reading about a controversy that Twitter wanted to start about, but the actual fans of the IP just shut it down.

It's not that the heroes are 80 years old, MCU was doing amazing in phase 4, even the worst movie, Captain Marvel, made bank, yet after that it fell off a cliff.

X-Men 96 did amazing on its reboot, bar like 2 episodes focused on Storm, meanwhile most the Krakoa arc comics were a disaster, so it proves it's no the age of the fracise, it's the writing, because it's the same IP.

Francises that don't gatekeep, expecially when it comes to writing staff, will fail.

aside from marketing, what made this game so expensive? the 20 year old reused animations? or the copy paste character models? if anything, it is the story that alot of people do not even touch. the graphics are not impressive, especially for a game with small maps and 2 characters on the screen. the shop? ha! anyone rembers pauls sleeve ripping of? i really was expecting them to go all out with this game.

uh excuse me , but imo you have some info wrong about xmen you got the title wrong its actually xmen 97 get your facts right lol... im only teasing you but if your referring to the animated series it is xmen 97 im a comic book fan so i do get offended by that imo but your all good i only am teasing

I'm at work, don't really have much time to fact check everything.

Plus, when it comes to X-Men, I'm more of a casual fan.

I did recently started watching Evolution again, I like how Nightcrawler, he's probably my fav in that show, followed by Kitty Pride, then again, Shadowcat was alwaysy fav character from that franchise.

its all gucci i loved the chris claremonts mini run on the xmen in the early 90's with jim lee til jim left and went and formed image comics people forget that xmen sold very badly in its original stuff and it was a zombie book meaning that while they still sold the comic they did print older stories for a long time but its getting off topic but honestly the tekken game in my opinion is good not great not bad but imo good
