Keep in mind that the rank system has changed a lot compared to T7. Up to fujin, they give you more points than they take away, and when demoting you are given an insta promote in 1 win.
After the fujin, the situation changes, system begins to take away more rank points than give for W, respectively, the rank that good players consider to be at least somewhat significant is Tekken King+.
If you have TK+, however, this does not mean that you are playing well. But if you don't have TK+, it definitely means you're playing bad. “Bad” in this context is not intended to be offensive, it simply means that there is something to learn.
In Tekken 7 the system was completely broken. Unlike T8, ranks could be edited locally, save data could be backed up, because of this, rank inflation was very significant and very bad players were encountered at tekken gods+ ranks too often.

Where are these players? Only 12% reached Fujin
and the OP can turn his attention to the another thread on this forum, where people are struggling even on red ranks.
You telling me that 6arakin is a special one, the 12%? lol. ok. It seems you are forgetting how many casuals exist below garyu, that barely play.
Also I said by the end of the year, not currently. And most others still at red ranks are afraid of losing their little rank than keep playing. Very few ranks, and you get promo match after losing your rank. Let's not forget how easy you can get to garyu since no demotion before warrior, it's exactly like tekken 7 teal/green ranks.
The only reason they dont rank up is because they dont play much. I met so many new players that are already at blue ranks and above because they play a lot. They never played a fighting game before either. Ofc they use busted characters but still.
Blue ranks are right before gold/god ranks, this makes no sense that most will hit a wall here. They should add more ranks and demotion should not begin at warrior. Most of these garbages at ruler or even blue ranks would be stuck at teal or green ranks in tekken 7 and that's a fact.
who's your tekken 8 main op, im curious
You play Reina, new player? I am guessing you are already blue ranks? I play mostly everyone, have them all at ruler ranks, my main isnt in this game, mainly Steve, Lili, Nina and Kazuya are blue rank.
I mean if you arent at blue youll get there, just keep spamming them Reina's 50/50s, ff2. I met new Reina players at fujin, if they can reach it, you can too.
nice, kazuya and steve are legit guys in my books, my next character for learning will be steve, I like the way he fights
Learning and applying proper defense is significantly harder than learning offense.
for real, blocking lows feels so rewarding
Depends where the stats come from.
Some take in consideration alt chars while others, don't.
Currently, from the ones I know that don't, which belongs to NotQuiteFactual on Reddit, Fujin is top 4.75% of the playerbase, but the rank is increasing quite fast. 2 months ago as per the last thread from NQF, Fujin was just 2.88%.
Fujin is the rank which increases the most based on the data we have.
We also have a lot more information about how points work, it is true that the system actually pushes people towards Fujin. Until Red ranks, you get a lot more than you lose, and once you reach Red ranks, you even get a Streak Bonus, where if you win 3 in a row against someone of the same rank or +/-1 rank, you get a huge bonus points, but there's no loss streak, the loss streak only appears once you reach Ruler, but while in Ruler, you still win more points than you lose and the win streak bonus is almost 3x the points amount compared to the loss streak bonus, as a win streak gives you 800 extra points while the loss stream only takes away 300 extra.
Only after you reach Fujin you actually start losing more points than you lose, and that also applies to the loss streak as well, hence why Fujin is the rank which saw the highest % increase compared to the other ranks.
