It's crazy how little people register for Mk1 considering how much money is in it.

This is an expected result for a game that focuses on the story campaign rather than multiplayer.
Tekken and SF are the only relevant fighting games, the rest are irrelevant af

Guilty Gear -Strive, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising - It's a joke?
Rising would be irrelevant without 2B, and Strive got hard carried by lgtvhd fans
Sorry but Tekken pro scene is trash on every level

Capcom offering up a million dollars for winning capcom cup. How did namco respond? They didn’t. 50k for winning TWT is peanuts in comparison. Tekken 8 has pretty much already died on twitch and it’s only a matter of time before the player base falls under SF6 in every region despite SF6 being 8 months older.

Really there is one competitive fighter that has an audience right now and that’s SF6. Nobody cares about any other fighter. Tekken 8 could have been a big deal but namco didn’t even try. How do you expect to grow a pro scene if you don’t invest any money into it

I feel T7 only gained traction because of now bad SF5 was but now the tables have turned. SF6 is now generally considered the superior product and T8 is a game that has been lambasted by the two very best T7 players. It doesn’t bold well for a strong future for Tekken. It’s going to be all downhill very fast

tournaments are cringe

I see 5 Arc System Works games dominate the board! Only 2 games are Namco Bandai related! It could have been 3 if Soul Calibur 6 is there!

Not a single serious argument. The fact is that T8 attracted more participants to the tournament than SF6. The hype for SF6 has passed. The balance doesn't change there, Akuma turned out to be a boring copy of Ryu and Ken. People went to Tekken 8)

Its the newest game in Esports.
Its new and fresh.
So its most popular. By active player numbers alone id argue its SFVI
Guess we will see in a year or so.

It does not change anything. SF6 needs a major update, a big new mode or a big pack of new entertainment for the battle hub. In its current state, there is simply nothing to do there for those who just come to have fun in the game.

Akuma is coming out in less than a month and i don't see them doping a major balance patch before evo. Chances are they will announce a major balance patch during evo or Capcom cup finals.
I mean people are already playing major balance patch alpha version of the game during events. Drive reversal is now possible on wakup and it only light punishable not medium punishable now so this is already a big nerf to the preasure characters in the game dominating the meta.
