I loved that stream I hope it comes back.
Jun is safer on the offense ( better frames on block) and looks to have the better/more complete moveset, so I would say Asuka is more difficult to play ( riskier).
The next patch has buffed Asuka and nerfed Jun. But not sure it will change a lot the balance of power between the two. I think that Jun will still be a more capable character overall, but I could be wrong.
In top level tournaments, Asuka is played very aggressively ( KingReyJr, Fergus). For Jun it depends on the players, but Ashes Usama from Pakistan plays her super aggressively too with very good success.
Yes you are probably right because now she will take permanent health damage and will not regain as much hp, so I agree with you that it is probably a big nerf on Kazama powers.
Her moveset is still pretty good though, her frames were not touched I think and she got minor buffs on 2 moves.
But the weaknesses of Asuka still remain I think, her lows are not very good apart from db3, and she is still somewhat risky.
She got a huge buff on fff1+2 which will be CH launcher, but from what I have read from Asuka players, they expected more buffs or different ones. Though It seems that df1,2 will jail on hit now which is nice, unless I didn't understand the patch notes correctly.
Jun easier to win games with
