„No contest” functionality is amazing!!!
I’ve heard about this option but I’ve never tried it before and it’s fantastic.

So, if I join a match where there is a crap connection or the other guy is on a potato PC then I can hold start button and the game gives me an option to cancel the match. It only works during the first round but it’s plenty of time.

I love it.

What i don't like about it, is it kicks both you and your opponent out of matchmaking.
At least they did it right, unlike sf6 where you need 2 people to agree to end match. Because 280ms Blanka on wifi never wants to end match with "no contest"

it should be easier to trigger. Plenty of potato PCs always in red and the game doesnt acknowledge that for some reason.

Sadly true... But then people complain you haven't rematched the underwater fight.

TIL, will have to try it next time.

This should only work in first 10 seconds. People somehow tend to only use this function when they get bodied.

Do you even see that option being used?
I haven’t seen a single person using it and I’ve personally used it only once so far. Most matches are perfect anyway since I’ve stopped accepting WiFi connections.

I used it ~10 times so far, I would prefer not having to. I'd say 7/10 were wifi players, garbage connection isn't specific to wifi, just much more likely.

I hope getting repeatedly kicked in the balls by getting their matches cancelled all the time motivates people to fix their connections.

Agree. One of rarest things Bamco got right for T8.

The reason why you "bodied them" is because they are desperate in holding down the start button while trying to block with one hand so the round doesn't end due to your ♥♥♥♥ ass connection before the disconnect registers. I'd know because I've done this a few times due to half of you not owning a PC capable of running Skyrim on low.

Oh, yeah, holding start while doing the awkward back shuffle.

I heard the ethernet status could be fabricated(?). I didn't put much stock in it at first, but the match in which I wished I knew this particular feature was against a 4-bar Law. It lag spiked every 5 seconds, no exaggeration. I've faced wifi opponents with smoother connection.

k..... May 3, 2024 @ 11:50pm
Yeah, but it only comes up if match is highly laggy, like slowmo lag. If it is micro stutters or inconsistent rollback option doesn't always come up.
huh ????????? is this really a thing now ? they legit added a quit match option ? that's amazing
