How difficult is Lidia? Should I pick up T7 to learn her in 8?
I'm completely new to Tekken and have been struggling and haven't hard settled on a main, but her trailer looks cool. I was wondering how difficult Lidia was for those who played T7 and if you think her moves will stay roughly the same in T8 since she's not a legacy character like Kazuya, Jin, Paul, etc.

Just wasn't sure if I should pick up T7 and learn her over the months to prep for her T8 drop, but that would be spending a bit of extra money to lab 1 character (I can get for $19 on PS store which is cheaper than steam)

She was easy in 7. Hardest thing about her was probably remembering which stance does what.
Her movelist should remain mostly the same.

Don't. You will get bad habits that will make you relearn her in Tekken 8.

So just wait til T8? I guess I can spend that time working on my defense. My defense is literal ass, but since I'm so new to the game I thought it would be easier if I just start early so I can learn her and practice fundamentals in 8 so when she's out I can be on a better patch. She just looks so cool...

This!

Just wait for Tekken 8.

I'm still re-learning Xiaoyu because of the changes made in Tekken 8, old habits still getting in the way, it's annoying.

For new players you won't find her easy. She needs fundamentals to win (and requires execution), not an ungabunga mashfest easymode character like eddy and lars but she's really strong, especially against people not knowing the matchup. Who knows how she will change in tekken 8, hope shes the same, I was maining her. Took me around 200 hours to get out of teal and green ranks with her but then again, tekken 7 ranked was way more difficult, I also played on keyboard, combos were really difficult to pull off for me, idk if it's like that everywhere. I have to say I learned tekken with her, learned to sidestep, punish well, duck strings etc.

I'd be really sad if they ruin her and make her easier. But with all the heat bs of this game anything's possible.

Where can I relieve it? Even in T7 it was easy.

She was pretty easy. Knockdown unseemable low, mixup stances, fast unlockable, massive evasion, great hopkick, insane attack speed shutting off players habits to whiff punish between hits...

She was very easy to the point pro players demanded her banned from tournaments. They didn't even complained that much about akuma for some reason

I said she's only easy to players who have played before, she is actually NOT easy to completely new players, she's not eddy. (Reina is slightly more difficult for new players)
Maybe I found her difficult due to playing on keyboard?

From what I remember, they didn't know the matchup since she was new, that's all to it. Everyone later put her at mid tier or some crap if you even remember. She also got nerfed. You disagree? Who cares, let's see how she turns out in tekken 8. Eddy is fine just too mashable, she better not be op.

Eddy isn't easy for players who never played before.

I just lately met an Eddy player in raijin rank and murdered him effortlessly.

It's Tekken. No one is easy to play if you are beginner.

For a new player just getting up from the ground may be immeasurable task in Tekken.

But for the general part - Lydia naturally solve a ton of issues for you. Her attack speed prevent whiff punishes that works on everyone else. Her stance mixes freeze opponents untill you get fastest unlockable, her sweeps are unseemable and confusing, her evasion jump in 7 was enchanced version of dragunovs mass elbow. She was easy amc good on all levels.

Damn she was the last dlc in Tekken and we all know what dlc in Tekken 7 meant.

What are we talking about? About the back button during cat stens?

Well I used to main Paul, but moved to Lars lately after getting stuck in orange ranks. So funny you should mention the unga bunga with Lars as I feel that gets said about Paul. Honestly a character won't help me not be ass, but I'm hoping I can practice my fundamentals before she's out. I would really like to give her a shot even if she's difficult. I just like how she looks and her Karate style since I used to practice Karate as well. (and like things like Karate Kid/Cobra Kai)

I don't know the input - the one where she jumps full screen back.
execution wise lidia is pretty easy

she's really fun to play though, I was always surprised she failed to make the base roster but at least she's coming back
