Besides character customization the one kind of unlock I would care about is freely choosing the main menu background, even static wallpaper options would be fine albeit not as good as having any one of the Tekken characters with custom outfits rendered live.

That is exactly what Harada promissed when they announced Eddy and showed him on main screen. And he did not say it will be paid or smth. If I remember it correctly, he just said that we'll be able to put any character.

I'm asking EXACTLY becaus I couldn't find it, but Bamco is notorius for their menu design and placement (they needed a patch to realize that "quit" button should not be in "settings"), so maybe I'm missing something and other player could figure it out.
