Tekken 8 Re-Review

Since you can't get your review on the store page for people to see a month after the first review is posted, I'll just post the new features I just added to it 2 months after the game's initial launch here in hopes more people voice their concern with the way Bandai has handled Tekken 8 and deceived many players with their post-launch in-game predatory microtransaction addition plan that was never discussed.

So, what's the gist.

Well, many idiots like me bought the game for 70€ day 1. And make no mistake, the game, at least for me, is excellent. So, while everything I said in my original review, before I added new new features to it, stands, when looking at Tekken 8 as just a game, my stupid ass is again reminded of how ridiculous this way of perceiving AAA games from 90% of publishers nowadays. This isn't just a game—it's a product meant to extract as much money from my pocket as possible.

First, a month after the game launched, Bandai introduced an in-game mtx shop that was never discussed prior to the game's release. None who paid 70€, for the amazing game that Tekken 8 is, knew about this before the feature was mentioned in a patch note. Truly disgusting behavior, and something many people seemed okay with, which wasn't surprising given how soft the gaming community has become regarding this type of stuff. I asked Valve to refund my purchase, because this was not something I wanted to support, and I was denied due to "more than 2 hours played and 14 days passed since purchase." Let's just ignore the publisher knowingly misleading their players, and changing the ESRB rating later to include those succulent words we all crave to hear, "In-game purchases."

But Bandai is a double G—greedy and glutenous. It wasn't enough that they were selling stupid skins for 5€ anymore, they also want to exploit the player's FOMO with a Battle Pass now. So, here we are, 2 months after the game released, and the game is now infested with all the hip predatory money-grabbing microtransactions without this being discussed prior to the game's release. Like before, I again sent Valve a refund request, in hopes that they accept it this time. But you know, "more than 2 hours and 14 days passed", and all that jazz. Can't give consumers a way to fight back against these sleazy practices big publishers are resorting to nowadays, by introducing predatory microtransactions in their game sometime after launch to get around negative PR. No, no, no, that would be bad, because of reasons.

What a time to be alive when my 29-year-old slav-ass can say, "Back in my day, games didn't try to bend me over and peg me out of all my money." I wonder if my grandkids will believe the tales this old Slav will tell them. Or will it just be "Ok grandpa, time to take the yummy pills, you're leaking again."

i think this best fighting game 2023 / 2024 better than MK1 /street fighter 6 i realy dont know why peaple dont like this perfect game .

People like the game, they don't (well, some) like how Bandai decided to just add something into the game (in-game shop and now a battle pass) that was not discussed prior to the game's launch. They did it after a month passed when they got most of their important sales out of the way, and now they can do this type of ♥♥♥♥. I feel scammed as I don't want to support this type of behavior and def wouldn't have paid 70€ for the game (maybe at all) had I known they were planning on doing this.

This will probably be what they say fo me as well. At least it was the first time i asked when the in game shop was first announced. Valve needs to give us a way to fight back against these sleazy practises, and protect us, the consumers, not protect the greedy big companies.

I’m still glad I didn’t purchase it. I see no reason to purchase it. Honestly we didn’t need Tekken 8. It’s the same game like Tekken 7.

People wanted Tekken 8 because they were tired of the same characters and/or cheap mechanics to win. And yet, again, we have cheap mechanics to win. Still the same rage arts/drives. So your point on wanting Tekken 8?

Steam normally will grant refunds whenever an ESRB rating change occurs on a game previously purchased.

They should not be able to change esrb ratings at will, without giving us the option to refund the product if we dont agree with said changes they just put in after the inital launch period. If they mentioned these things would be in the game prior to its launch, then it would give the consumer knoweldge of what they support and they could then choose to buy or not the game based on that info which is important to some players. But how they did it, its scummy and should be illegal. I dont want to support such predatory monetazation, and def wouldnt have bought the game day 1 if i knew it had this.

Yeah, that is whats really getting at me. Bandai changed the esrb on the store itself after they did this. We should be able to get a refund due to how this was done, never informed consumers before they bought the product about this being in the game.
