I used to watch so much high level Tekken 7 but don't watch Tekken 8 channels or streams. It's just too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ manic and tiresome. Most rounds are just cutscenes and juggles interrupted by the odd poke and counter-hit.
-Some sequences in heat are really oppressive and it feels as if you need to guess multiple times in a row. Example: at the wall, Heat engager--> plus on block mid/plus on hit low--> mid heat dash--> 50/50 again.
-In heat, you can block confirm heat engagers that consist of two hits into heat dash. Example: Lili's 3,1 at the wall, if it hits, don't heat dash and get a wall splat, if its blocked, heat dash and get your +18.
And all of this doesn't even include the increased mixup potential certain characters gain in heat.
They don't even try to dodge, sidestep, anything. I'm losing a lot, but most of them are straight up awful.
- Jack: 10f Heat Crush: -12 on block
- Zafina: 12f Heat Crush: -10 on block
- Alisa: 20f Heat Crush: +5 on block
- Lili: 23f Heat Crush: +8 on block
Reason being, at how slow Lili's is, she can easily be interrupted 20 times over before she does, I speak that from experience, because Alisa's Heat Crush is the 2nd slowest in the game, right next to Lili's who's is the slowest, so if that one gets blocked, sure, let them get some advantage, meanwhile the fast ones either are negative due to their speed, or they barely give any advantage, thus not forcing a mix-up.
this game is just a joke how far u can go smashing,
yesterday my sister's husband wanted to play against me, and that mf have NONE, ZERO, technical knowledge on the game and he was smashing the controller like a maniac, incredibly the character (leroy) started doing some interesting moves, I obviously ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ obliterate him with pokes and my frames advantages, but the fact such casual was able to drain half of my health bar shows u how forgiving this game is with nooblets.
just watch pros playing the game,
it is so boring, no one does special grabs or flashy stuff with high kicks or such, they all use the same meta moves with +13 , +10 frames, or just go for lows.
Endgame tekken is just doing low attacks + SS, and it's so stupid.
if u release such info as framedata for the public, obviously people will abuse their best techs. it becomes a 50/50 of who lands their +10 or the launcher first, all pros does the same boring combos after a launcher, it's like when everyone uses the same meta weapons in call of duty.
You guys don't like DOA?
Well too bad there's a lot of DOA devs in the Tekken Project team now.
Now why King's has the best damage is beyond me, it's plenty fast at 17f, and +12 on block into Jaguar Sprint to boot. That already had an unreactable low and a safe launcher, and gets buffed even more once he has heat.
I'm glad T8 is more aggression focused. Street fighter did the same thing and SF6 is a million times more enjoyable to watch than the snooze fest that SF5 was
This is basically preemptive tears from Arslan and co because they fear they won't be be so dominant this time around. What better excuse can you have but to call the game a lottery in advance.
Could it be that learning a new game takes time and it will feel "random" until you fully come to grips with the game and all that can be done in it?
No, it's the children who are wrong.
All games have flaws, and what is "good design" comes down to subjective values on what is fun which are often tainted by personal bias I.E. "I was really good at that last game and I am not as good at this new one".
Players need to adapt to the game.
I understand that it doesn't fit some people taste but they need to get rid of the thought that it will be like previous Tekken titles which they might prefer.
Video games are also not made for the professional sector, but for the casual sector, at least in most cases from my personal experience. And if it hurts some casual people there will also be casuals who celebrate the game.
You can't please everyone but you could also leave things as they are for once.
