Is Lee really considered an "honest" character?
Been playing Lee for a while now in T8, it's my first Tekken game and I've been having a lot of fun learning him, but for a long time I've always heard about how Lee is the "hardest" and "most honest" character in the game, he definitely feels a lot more difficult to use than say King or Victor, but he also feels super strong too. Is he truly as honest and difficult as people say? Fujin rank for context.

I don't think any character is honest to be fair. They can all be abused. Some are just less dishonest than others.

With Lee, you can use slides repeatedly ( buffer/chain them), and there are ways to be annoying with him, like with many characters.

But yes, he is hard to play, not in terms of applying his gameplan(s), but in terms of execution of his optimized combos and pickups consistently.

You need good precision and the workload on the inputs is higher than average, which is why you see even tournament Lee players occasionally missing perfect frames punishes or dropping combos.

He is pretty good though, his only issue (for me) is that without b3,3, it is not so easy to maintain pressure and his stepping is average. He is well balanced between being an attacker and counter hit character. His lows are very good and his wall damage is his strong point.

What? No one ever said t8 lee is honest. Even in t7 he was a cheater.

But he still remains technical. Though on contrary to his t7 counterpart he can be a braindead mix machine.

In t7 he had to poke or slide. Not anymore.

I wouldn't use the word braindead with him to be honest. He is actually one of the most technical character in the game.

Name me more than 3 characters with more workload on the inputs, harder optimized combos, perfect frames punishers, and tight windows pickups ?

Because if Lee is braindead, what adjective should we use about Eddy, Victor or Azucena? :)

Yeah I wouldn't say he's braindead at all, think about the fact that there's a King combo that does 73 damage just for ↑1+2 ←3 →→→2+4 lol

If you use terms like "honest character" you are the problem. It's a game. Is this your excuse?

What does this even mean brother, what are they making an excuse for? they were just asking if Lee is actually considered honest.

Is "there are honest characters" your excuse to not get gud? That's what it means. To stop the complaints and play more to actually git gud.

There will always be players who find any character dishonest, no matter which character it is. Top tier, bottom tier, doesn't matter, someone is gonna hate playing against that character.
Lee is a pretty rare character to meet, so I can understand why some find him hard to play against, it's mostly about lack of experience, which people excuse with "dishonest character"

for me Lee is far from honest, hes actually my most hated matchup.

Nope. I can't think a single truly honest character in this game. I play Zafina, and even tho she is pretty weak right now, I manage to pull a bs or two sometimes.

If Xiaoyu is a movement specialist, Zafina is a bs specialist but not as bothering as Alisa.
