Why do some peoples wavedashes look weird

Some players wave dash looks like theyre stuttering or laggy, while others look normal.


The normal ones even when fast dont feel to overwhelming (because I can see the entire animation, but the other one I cant react to (the animation look like its cut in half).

They're cancelling the dash into another dash. Especially with Mishimas, that's an actual tech.

You can cancel wavu into step or backdash or block or dash into block it is used to mix you up or to use instant while standing or standing moves from crouch dash

You can cancel by pressing properly or bb example of use would be doing f4 during wavu you have to cancel wavu with bb or ff into f4 if you do it too fast then ff4 will come out instead of f4

legal wavedash vs macro wavedash is very noticeable

if you check their command history in replay
and find that they always do it at the same frame
they are using macro

You don't need to press F,F, the first F cancels you into Neutral but also buffers the ability to wavedash by F -> n DF -> n F -> DF.

IDK why a lot of Mishima use F,F was this an old thing?

Most likely. You can go watch streams of high level and Pro Tekken players. When they wave dash fast it looks fine, smooth, not sure how else to describe it. You can basically tell they are hitting all the inputs correctly and thus the character moves in a nice fluid motion. You can see them go down, forward/backwards, up again, fast.

The ones using a macro however, look extremely.. robotic for lack of a better word. The character don't move in a fluid way, its like they are having seizures. They go down forw-up, do-forw- down, back-up. It's hella noticeable.

You completely ignored how Controllers, Sticks, Keyboards and Hitbox/mixbos all have different looking wavedash.

Streamers mostly use Stick.

Hitbox/Pad will give very different looking Wavedashes for example.

Please, enough people cry cheaters/Macro when it's not real, don't add to that issue.

Now when OP fights my Jin, he'll alt+f4 cos "Macro user, omg he has clean asf robotic Wavu and a consistent electric"
