"Patch v1.05 saved Tekken!"
Biggest lie ever foretold. I completely fell for it too.

Just because they fixed one thing doesn't mean the game is saved, I think people are just saying this because they were starving for something good to finally happen since January.

All they did was make heat bounds and smashes finally steppable, and even then it's still remedial, heat engagers still have insane tracking, power crush heat engagers still exist (for some reason), oki is still stupid and require no thought, still a lot of gimmicky and misleading animations, defensive gameplay is still a slap in the face, prowess matchmaking is still the worst matchmaking in GAMING HISTORY. Just fought a GoD with 450,000 prowess while I only have 244,000, pokes that shouldn't track are starting to track now, like Alisa's chainsaws, and Mishima FF2's still need work.

It's like they shot themselves in the foot multiple times and only sutured one hole, while the rest are left untreated, and people are praising them. Now, tell me, how is this game "saved?" If so, I've lost faith in both this community and game, and will just wait for Tekken 9 to come out.

I mean in the patch notes they said that they deliberately put visual nonsense in the game so idk why people would expect anything good. I think a lot of players have character bias or are foolishly elitist that it blinds them to blatant flaws in the game.

yup. exactly, heat engager are realigning for some reason. powercrush heat engager, especially safe hight, are probably the most broken and abusable thing in this game. Some character have insanely good oki. Prowess matchmaking is horrible . And lets not forget the horrible balancing.
But the biggest problem are powercrush . Way too broken. The problem of a character having a safe hight heat engager powercrush is that sure, THEY get to attack a lot. But if the opponent want to win, he has to play way more passively. So despite the claim that t8 is attack oriented, its allow some char to win in a very dumb, mashy way while other NEED to be god of defense and hard read the opponent.

So the result is that one guy attack all the time and another defend all the time.
Powercrush replaced the back input. i'm not joking. I see some Victor, lee , azucena, shaheen, eddy in god ranks. They never block. They either hopkick or powercrush or do a panic button.
one thing they change will not help

Command throws no longer track which is amazing. Also regular throws are treated as homing mids, that means that 1 they have homing trails and 2 you can parry them. Weakening throws like this was a smart idea and a good consideration. Being able to step Heat engagers from +18 to +5 is massive too. Moreover, PowerCrush moves have less active frames, which means that you cant just spam it anymore because the PC effect will come out later. These are all great changes.
Its not enough but it makes the game a hundred times more bearable. Nevermind the fact that now King can wavedash... holy hell why.

I think people are enthusiastic about the patch because the changes are going in the right direction and not necessary that the game is perfect now.

Prowess Matchmaking is a disaster though and will become a bigger problem when the player base will be smaller. It's already a niche genre and dividing an already small player base into even smaller groups that can't play together feels wrong. It's also super discouraging for some players as it punishes ranking up or playing multiple characters.

There is no division, everyone plays together. I come across players from 170k to 300k skill. Stop reprising myths

For the time being it's even worse.

Not sure how things are for you, but after I had a couple of off days, I got demoted to Raijin, and majority of my opponents are Kishin and Bushin anyway, very few are Fujin and haven't ran into a single Battle Ruler, despite technically the chances of meeting a Battle Ruler should be the same as meeting a Bushin.

Granted, almost none of those are actual Blue ranks anyway, everyone is 230k+ prowess.

But yea, for me at least, the system prioritises not only prowess, but also tries to match me with higher rank opponents, which means I'm rarely triggering the win streak bonus, just to make things harder when it comes to climbing.

What a nightmare!!!) They don’t give me weak players, only those who are strongest by TWO RANKS. How can I continue to play without weak players, thanks to whom I raised my rank? This is a big problem)))

Cirex: "prowess based matchmaking is bad because it separates the players"
Stryk: "ha ha there is no such thing"
Me to Cirex: "the system is pretty bad indeed"
Stryk: "ha ha you cry because the system doesn't give you easy opponents"

In your rush to contradict everyone, you contradicted yourself and admitted there is indeed a prowess based match making separating the players.

Practice shows that the selection of players occurs with different skills

And the screenshots I provided in a different thread contradict what you claimed.

As others told you, just wait till you hit TK and 230k prowess and we'll see how your tune changes.

Screenshots are trash. They can be done anywhere and anytime. I have a video with a search in the rating.

Nothing will change) TheMainManSWE plays at high ranks and he also has opponents with a range of skills)

He only plays against people with god level skills.
Even in blue ranks the average prowess of his opponents is about 250k. Sure, he may occasionally meet somebody who has correct 180k at kishin but that’s like 1% of matches.

Even you will have people with about 30k prowess difference 90% of the time. Even if you switch to Panda and intentionally try to rank down you will still be finding low red or orange rank players with 180k prowess instead of 100k or whatever it should be there.

I play with these guys half the time, having only 200k skill. Your arguments are not convincing.

Here is TMM at Bushin.
He supposed to have around 200k and fight people with 170k Raijin - 230k Tekken King or Tekken Emperor.

And yet none of his opponents have less than 235K. The least people have is about Tekken King level of prowess. Not a single real Bushin with 200k prowess.
