Yeah, right. Use can-cans, whiff-punish with ff2, evade attacks, defend properly, etc. Her entire play-style is still intact and she has sabakis and regular parry. In the right hands, she's very easy to play defensive with. Once people get over match-up knowledge issue, it's relatively the same game, kind of, except there are a bit more offensive options and heat. Her heat moves and her install add extra amount of punch to her. She's no slouch. Doesn't play exactly like T7, but she's not weak that she's unplayable. A TGO T7 player would probably still whoop mid-high to even remotely high-level players with Asuka even without trying.
I mained Asuka in 7 and I agree with you op. They butchered her, it seems intentional to get people on Jun.
She's not fun to play at all, she lost her counterhit game and her general flow of gameplay was destroyed. I dropped her and will simply remember the character as it was in t7.
'Jazz hands' - Rofl
Broadway, New York - fame, musicals, film, - go get em tiger Asuka with those Jazz hands and dance moves.
Bob Fosse would be proud.
Bruh, you must be good at tekken, because all you've written rings true. - But I only hear top top players talk like that. Nicely said once again. Thank you.
I might try out Asuka, at scrub level though because she's now interesting with all these changes.
OP, don't give up, you can still win with her it seems.
You're not wrong. It's just that her offensive tools were nerfed hard. I even forgot to mention how they changed her 1+3 to special mid instead of low.
She's no threat anymore.
I was TK in T7 and now I struggle to keep flame ruler with her.
She has always been rather predictable. And a turtle player has always been hard to Crack as Asuka.
But now it's even harder.
She still has no 11f punisher
Or a proper low. (D1+2 has no reach and whiffs more often than not unless during wall game)
And all the cool stuff has been taken away...
If I look at other characters.... they all evolved (except Feng, Zafina and Shaheen... and Leroy. They stayed the same mostly) into something stronger and more offensive. Asuka is the only one who's lost way more tools than gained. That's kinda sad as an Asuka main.
Yeah... she's no fun anymore. It's not only about strong player or not... but her mind games and threatening traps are gone.
