Refund Over Microtransactions
Running into a bit of a wall here and could use some community wisdom. Bought Tekken 8 13 days ago, excited as anyone, only to find a few days later they rolled out microtransactions without a heads-up. Pretty bummed since there was no word about this before I bought it, and it kind of changes the whole deal for me.

Tried to get a refund from Steam but hit a dead end twice. The kicker? I’m only about 6 minutes over their 2-hour play limit for refunds. Talk about bad timing, right?

Steam’s auto-rejecting my refund requests, and it looks like they don’t do direct emails for support anymore. I’m thinking about taking this up with INDECOPI (that’s our consumer protection agency here in Peru) because this feels like they pulled a fast one on us.

Before I go down that road, wanted to see if anyone here has dealt with something similar. Got any advice on how to handle this or maybe a way to get Steam to take another look at my refund request? Really not trying to make a huge deal, but I also don’t want to let this slide.

Appreciate any tips or shared experiences you’ve got. Thanks for the help!

All of that just because of 4 skins ???
Multi-billion company hiding MTX post launch just to keep customers money ???

I don't understand the logic of the detractors, he has every right to want a refund if the product he bough was altered post purchase

Of course he has the right to ask for a refund. I'm just surprised that after 13 days that's all it took for him to ask for one. That's all :)

Hope you enjoyed the game OP

Sure but it’s hard to explain in what way his experience got worse when the game just added an optional content and nothing was taken away.
I understand why he may want a refund but I can’t see how he can get one.

I'm pretty sure the valve support team would make an exception if namco would change something on the main game. E.g. you pay for the online mode now. But as nothing will be removed or actually changed on the main game, the mtx update will just bring fully optional, free to ignore content, valve don't see it as reasonable exception to their 2 hours, 2 weeks limit.

It's absolutely insane that people expect a game to be live service without some form of monetization after the initial purchase.
Like do you actually want to go back to the time where a game cost 60 bucks and was NEVER updated post release? Nah I'm fine with people being able to buy costumes for 4 bucks (which is a lot less than skins in other games).

I sure hope Valve won't make an exception here. The product you bought doesn't change at all.

I've seen some people get refunds, so it is a case by case basis.

I guess the person's ability to explain why the change completely ruined the game for you and completely destroyed your ability to enjoy the game and you hate it so much that seeing an opponent with a skin sends you in a fit of rage to the point where the opponent gets a free win.

A live service title with Mtx? Unheard of!

Thank god you don’t have to participate in it.

You really can't see why for some this is breach of trust especially with that specific timing of this kind of announcement?

Sure trusting any company is quite silly but if they expected more of them and saw this i completely understand why they don't want to support it and they should be granted refund

They knew what kind of backlash it would bring and how many people would refund and review bomb the game for that so it was announced later obviously. Personally i dislike how they did it but game still is good but as i have stated others have full right to not only be displeased but even mad over this especially with future potential of microtransactions (remember what they did with frame data in tekken 7)

Whoever has that kind of issues should call up a psychologist, not Valve support.
