maybe my controller pad / stick is just way out of balance.
For me personally Combos are the easiest part of any Fighting Game, hitting the opponent to start them is usually the hard part.
for example
the combo
df2 > f2 > df1,2 > 3,4
you can press
df2 > (hold f) 22222 > df11111,2222 > 3333,44444
but you have to watch your character too, stop mashing when the attack already success and prepare to press the next
like
d2,2,3
i do
D22 (see first punch)
222 (see second punch)
33333
And combos or strings can be buffered. That means before the prior move ends, you can input the command for the next move.
There are exceptions to it. For example "just frame" combos. Lee has a few of them. It required an exact timing when inputting the commands.
Or Asuka when doing a full crouch df2 CH into crouch cancel and df2 for a combo.
Basically every character has something that can only be achieved when putting in the hours.
But most combos and strings are learnable in a matter of minutes.
Don't give up.
