Performance fluctuation

Having a low-end PC, I expected bad performance while playing the game, but with the right settings and tweaks, I can surprisingly play at 60FPS. However, whenever I'm playing online, and I rematch someone, my FPS suddenly drops to 40-30, sometimes even 20FPS. And it doesn't happen on all rematches as well, it only happens a couple of times, but makes matches unfair and sometimes people don't play me because of it (totally fair).
I don't expect solutions, I only want explanations and answers. I just wanna know why my performance is fluctiating, and not locked at 60FPS, since I'm able to reach that framerate at every stage, with every character.

In case you need/wanna know my specs:
16gb of RAM
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.41 GHz
Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

I don't want to hear any "just buy a new processor" or "buy a new graphics card" because, as I said, I already expected bad performance, and i don't have the money for that, since those are unfairly expensive where I live.
And if the only explanation is "your pc is bad" then I don't wanna hear it as well, I already know it.

Simple answer - the game is poorly optimized.

I don't have strong PC either, but I tested everything left and right. Doesn't matter setting, drops will happen. When I use newest drivers, performances are even worse.

Maybe try some potato mods if you can find it. But with that PC you can pretty much expect lag. Also game reloads shaders every patch. So if you do a new animation, it will drop fps even on better pcs.

The minimum requirements ask for 1050Ti what is a very slow card but with 4GB of VRAM. GTX 960 has only 2GB of VRAM.

My guess is that VRAM is the problem and somehow you may be running out of memory in some stages against some characters.

It’s a PlayStation5 game build in Unreal Engine 5. Some UE5 games are hard to run even on the latest hardware.

Hes correct, sometimes the game will just stutter hard and drop to 40-50 frames for me WHEN IM ON A LITERAL RTX 4070, i5-11600k on 1440p monitor and can run games like jedi survivor on like 100frames plus at times there no way its an issue on my end this is the games awful optimization

I can run Cyberpunk 2077 on max, except ray tracing as it's not supported by GTX 1660ti, and have frame flucuation from time to time in T8.
There are days when the game runs without any problems, and there are days with frame drops for God only knows why.

T8 is definitely poorly optimized game.

That's the issue, there aren't lag spikes or fps drops on specific moments or animations. The fps drops happen only during SOME rematches (not even all of them), and last the whole match. the matches that are stable run at 60fps perfectly. i've tried using mods but it still happens.

that's so sad, and even tho i still play because 70 to 80% of my matches still run at stable FPS, i guess i'll just have to stick with it untill i can buy a new pc :l
