Was in T7 especially post patch 5.0 but not anymore in T8.

He is basically kunimitsu except he trades the small hitbox for electric & launching hellsweep.

If i knew i would have never touched him in T8.
wow
I truly think all characters have those handful of juggles who are just tougher to execute, but with time and practice, you can pull them off. while DVJ can be more difficult than others, in the end, its all about practice. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.

i feel like hes going to make my kazuya more precise as alot of the inputs i questioned with kazuya, give me completely different moves with DJin.

like fdf 4 if done in a qcf motion gives like a standing mid variation of the hellsweep, while fdf 4 where I hold df gives me the normal kazuya styled hellsweep.

Electric and mastering wavedash and that's it I think.
It's vital execution you have to master and wavedash mastery especially takes alot of time, but I wouldn't call him particularly difficult.

In terms of difficulty, some consider him the easiest of the Mishimas. For others they might not play him because he was considered stronger earlier in the game's lifecycle.

He used to be hard in Tekken 5 onwards but with things like special style giving you 1 button electrics and hellsweeps he’s probably the easiest now.

He risks his entire healthbar to get his most consistent combo starter (hellsweep) which at max execution can maybe shave off close to 40%, you need electrics at higher ranks with him in order to keep up with the other characters, and he has a very straightforward honest move set outside of heat smash which isn’t anything that crazy once you respect it.

I’d say he’s harder than Kazuya because he has no launching mids that are fast like FF3. Seriously compare what Devil Jin has to do to get something started to a character like jack azucena or king lol

to do a perfect electric and wave dash is hard. once you have your opponent respecting your offense you have a 50/50 with hellsweep (a low) or perfect electric (a mid or maybe high i feel like ive ducked it) to get through their defense. Thats why he is hard.

If your opponent not respecting your offense than he is less hard cause perfect electric not needed.

took me all of around 20 seconds to learn wavedash, and about 10-20 min to learn EWGF, don't believe the Mishima gaslighting.

electric is his only standing launcher - already a big of enough of a barrier of entry
besides that he doesn't really have neutral apart from hell sweep that's turbo unsafe and df2 pokes
his heat smash just straight up gives him a free turn, but that's about it
but you don't have to be a super genius to play him there's definitely harder characters

Learning the motions isn't the difficult part. It's mastering what's difficult. A slow wavedash is basically useless. And electrics also get better when you can do them fast and consistent.

On top of that you need to be able to combine electrics and wavedash.

This stuff takes time.

Still he relies less on his wavu than kaz and his hs has more tracking

He's technically hard to execute with well was, in this game he is brain dead and you never have to utilize anything that requires that skill.
