GoD rank is now attainable by mediocre players

I have seen some players in GoD rank who don't belong there, they do this by abusing the ranked system.

- they set ranked preferences to no restrictions
- block every top player
- one and done every decent player
- plug

This way they just farm low ranked players as each win still gives around 100-200 points.

The solution is easy, just make it so beating a low ranked opponent won't give you any points, or a miniscule amount of points, like 10 points.

Unless they're cheating, I don't see any issue. Besides, Ranks don't matter, anyway. Plenty of unranked "mAsTeRs" out there, you know.

All problem with online can be easily solved by coping SF6.
In SF6 all ranked games are in +-1 rank range. No option to change it.
+-3 preferred is very bad for new players.

TBH. I don't get Leaderboard Culture. I stopped looking at Leaderboards in Fighting Games(Honestly, FPS too) during the Original Xbox Era(Not being Facetious. I can't tell you who is on top of the LB in any game in any Genre I own lol). I just assume 99% of the People on top were cheaters or w/e. It's best just to focus on your Ranks.

Well if the devs are making an effort to "reset" boosters they should patch this because it's practically the same thing.

this isnt the the reason its easy to rank up in this game

I value my time too much to get GoD in such a boring and slow paced grindy way.
And for what? Only so that I can't win against anyone anymore because I don't belong in those ranks. Wow great, the most boring grind ever and my reward is that I don't get to play the game anymore.

This also affects lower ranked players, since the default ranked restrictions for the game is +-3 preferred, so with this setting you can actually be matched with any rank.

And guess what happens when you lose to a significantly higher ranked opponent? It's still -400 points. Changing or removing the points gained will disincentivise ppl from beating up on low ranked players to boost their rank. That or just make ranked matchmaking +-2 only.

Nothing new. T7 is full of such players which makes you wonder "how the **** did they attain this rank" being this bad or brain dead.
