Compared to some of the crazy characters in this game, paul is pretty normal. His 50/50 is annoying to deal with still, but he had that before as well.

His new hair for his default costume is the only thing worthy of criticism :)

like a Paul mainer can say that every1 who says that Paul is OP is just low skill, most everything moves are punishable, any my high moves every skill player ducks and launch sometime, many moves are easy stepable, and Paul have no single low launcher on combo, when yoshi have 3 of them and 1 unblock, Jin have 2, bryan have 1 and hatchet, drago has snake, fast hatchet for now and low spam after every string attack, lili have many amount of low attacks mb some low launcher idk, do u even see Xiaoyu, Zafina?
If u open ur blind eyes u see that almost all char's have low launcher, Steve probably have no.
So maybe Paul have some plus on block? No he havent. If u remind qcb4 homing, its +1-3 or something and it duckable if u spam it.
When you play Paul in T8 all you have feel is pain and suffering and no more. Same was in tekken7. Its just honest play. U dont know it.
Maybe Paul have evade stance, or some kind of it, where even f*ckin middle attack can't reach him? Still no, he havent.
He still haven't possible to attack or pressing. If u are losing to Paul on ur rank, lower than Ruler you are just noob, not in bad meaning, no, you just have no expierence in this game. After ruler and higher, Paul can do nothing. Its probably like 3 Paul's player on 30 Lili, 50 yoshi, 25 Jin, 100 Dragunov's (for now) etc. Playing Paul u will not meet Paul, or Kazuya or some honest or weak (for now) char's. You will meet all sh*t that this game has on this patch.
And, btw, my little noobs, who crying about Paul, allmost all really not bad moves on this char are making through the sway, qcf and qcb, it's very similar like EWGF on Mishima's ))). So if u have no straight arms - ur choice is xiaoyo, lili, zafina, victor, raven, azucena, and else. Paul player does not differentiate between you, you are all like one low spamer. Even hopkick (shreder) is now broken, it cant lauch normally on low attack, tested vs Jin and Xiao, okay, its just dont work like earlier, if u want so.
To play Paul good, u must be really skillful, and can't win by f*cking low launcher's and sh*tty string attacks, bcs Paul haven't it. I mean u must move good, u must think good, u must choose attack options very careful, because in this game 1 mistake = lose. And if u lose to Paul, its not his problem, its yours, trust me.
All Paul players must feel proud playing on this char.

So I got 3 characters to Warrior and one of them was Paul. Hands down the hardest one to rank up. Hes just too honest and has no gimmicks to get him out of sticky situations. You have to actually fight. Not fly, not abuse frames, not use a gun(talking about Juns heat Smash) just be more solid than the other guy. Paul is hard (to win with)yet satisfying. that being said, I'll keep him at warrior for a while....

My experience:first Tekken game

Noobs do not know how hard it is to play Paul in high rank. They get caught by counterhit cheese probably in Underground Arena eat 114dmg and think he does enormous damage. So many characters can do that. People also do not know how hard it is to constantly hit backsway cancel on frame 3 etc.

People scratching the surface and think something is broken.

Paul is kinda just a very normal character by design who plays standard Tekken. He's easy to play at low levels because he gets a lot of damage off simple things, but he doesn't really have anything outlandish. He has decent tools for fundamental Tekken and blows you up on counterhit. This game doesn't really have a true Ryu, but Paul is pretty close.

I also do play Feng every now and then. Tried Azucena and Drag etc. If you compare Paul to these characters Paul is way worse especially on higher rank level.

Much damage, but super one dimensional and easy to punish. Fairly easy to beat.
