Add to that that King has chain throws that he can modulate ( so that you have to guess if 1 or 2 can break it ), unseeable throws that can be buffered and throw animations that do not let you easily know how to break it.
It means that he is very tricky to play against in general due to his style and being the best grab/throw character for now ( perhaps until Marduk come out or Armor King who should be pretty good with that too).
I don't really understand how King players don't get bored of seeing the animations, but I suppose it's sort of like how Jin players tend to be very self-absorbed (do Jin mains EVER skip their intro..?). People like to get into character, I suppose!
That's not to say he's not strong in other areas, but that's the cusp of it.
If you think his throws are the only issue, you ain't seem nothing yet.
It honestly seems King has the most amount of safe moves in the entire roster.
It's not that deep man.
If it’s 1+2 on wall, assume he’s going for Giant Swing— break with 1, unless he goes for 2 break.
And, anything that is 2 break will ALWAYS be a 2 break.
If he’s running at you, expect a 1+2 grab over Giant Swing, unless he somehow stopped to buffer Giant Swing; and if he did, it’s noticeable, press 1 if he uses 1+2 looking grab. This should increase your grab break percentage against him.
If you expect incoming grab, sometimes it’s worth to flash duck launch. Unless you know the King player likes to use hop-kicks, mids in-between.
