Dragunov sucks

What a pain in the ass character to fight. He seems to be plus on a lot of hard hitting moves, and his strings/ combos seem really strong. Dumb character / rant over

Even when he plus his opponents can still counter launch him. He is pretty weak. No one respect Dragunovs frames. Not even Dragunov himself.

IDK man, I am a noob to be sure, but I will block his entire random string/ combo and then I cant even jab punish afterwards cuz hes so plus.

The mistake comes from "I block his string"

First of all your moves most likely either outspeed or at least outranfe him.

Second of all most likely launching counterhit is property of some of your moves. So Dragunov can't trade with you and always lose in mashing unless you freeze like a deer in the headlights.

If he is onto you you only need to guess when he wants to actually damage you and do a hopkick for full combo.

Unlike any other characters Dragunov pressure is easiest to get out from.

He will either give up his turn or needs like two-three times more mistakes from you to get same effect that other characters will get from their hellsweeps.

He only get high damage if you start ducking randomly near wall. He only get to play AFTER you already made mistake. And he almost doesn't have fast counterhits like most characters.

And I didn't even went into his poor tracking because you don't even need that.

Dragunov isn't the strongest character but that's not the reason you can't win in ranked.

Dragunov is definitely one of the if not the best character in the game right now with Devil Jin. It is not just me claiming this, it is top professional players like Knee and Arslan Ash.

He has one of the best if not the best pressure in the game, amazing frames on block when pressuring, amazing throw game, amazing poking and dmg, amazing combo damage, amazing wall carry and wall damage etc.. no real weakness and rather easy execution compared to other characters like Kazuya or Bryan to name a few.

As for stepping his attacks, yes some of his attacks are steppable, like any character in the game (like Xiaoyu who was on the receiving end of complaints despite being weaker than Dragunov ) , though stepping is mostly guess work, so any Dragunov delaying a little when he notices that you are constantly trying to step will definitely catch you.

He is just a very strong character to play against, there is no miracle formula like " hey, you just need to step him" , a very skilled person using Dragunov will always give you a very hard time in my experience. He is a honest character, just very strong..

I do love kicking dragunov's ass, since he's a heavy hitter, I rather fight with him in a fun and bloody fight over the grab champ (king), dragunov is the kind of enemy that makes u think "a wrong move and I am dead" those kind of fights, like against paul are fun af, imo it's the way a fight is intended to be, dragunov is powerful and technical, Reina is fast and can keep the preasure with the right combos, also, she's a comeback fighter, she usually can punish u for being too close or rushing her, I feel like it's a great match for a fight.
the character I enjoy the most fighting are dragunovs, another reinas and leo's.

I do recommend u to go in practice mode and select dragunov as practice partner with the CPU mode active, for some reason the more u push the ai, the better it fights/blocks ur attacks, it's not the same ai when u start and 15 mins after beating it non stop, I learned a lot of punishes and blocks against alisa this way.

Let me guess, you are one of those xiayou neckbeards screaming LEARN THU MATCHUP when I block the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time. Gtfo with your easy mode character trash

xiayou isnt hard, just keep in mind she's always pushing, even if she's turned around, SHE IS designed for fighting like this, she's a trickster after all, just keep ur low block game on point and u will be fine.

if she launches u, is game over lol, she have some long combos
