My opinion on the Tekken Shop and how to work around it (hopefully)
Hello there.

I am writing to you not in any mean or evil manner, but I wish to talk more about Tekken Shop and microtransactions in general. I know support is mostly for technical issues, but I believe this is meant for the betterment of Tekken and the game as a whole, so pardon me if this is not fitting into anything, but I need to speak about it since it feels nowhere else people either care about it or they accepted it, or they don't mind it at all.

As a player that prefers to earn everything in game 'fair and square' and that goes to fighting games in doubles. I do not like microtransactions, believing they are nothing good for the industry and they only deter people, though I know I should 'not mind it' if I do not like it, but I cannot sit idly and stay quiet about it, since one part of people 'accepted it' with 'reasonable pricing' or any other hoarding thing they got into their mind, one part just doesn't care and the others outright hate it. I cannot decide where to stand myself as I do not want to deter Tekken 8 from development and life, but at the same time such practices to lock outfits and suits behind a 'paywall' with no other way of earning this 'premium' currency than paying real money for it feels off to me. I grew up on games (Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, Original War, Dragon Age: Origins, Warcraft 3) where everything was complete and finished and anything added to it (expansions) had value in buying it and enjoying it. Nowadays, it feels like the complete opposite. But instead of ranting on this whole shop and microtransactions issues (besides adding Nina's Blood Vengeance suit into it) without any value, I'd like to use this to offer a few alternatives and points in which the game could be way more 'sufferable' not for me, but for a bunch of other players too, I am sure of it.

- Extra challenge modes in which you can either earn Tekken Coins or the said outfits (Beat this number of 'Ghosts' for this outfit, for example). - example, a better version of Treasure mode from Tekken 7.
- Earn Tekken Coins through victories in ranked matches (not too little, so it does not become a frustrating grind and not too much so it is not that easy).
- Online tournament modes (like in Tekken 7) in which said Coins could be earned if you're doing good in them.
- Make outfits in the said shop not 'time limited'. If I want to earn my skin for Nina in her Blood Vengeance suit and her original haircut, I want to earn it fair and square and feel good about it, honestly. Just paying money for that feels cheap and 'not worth it'.
- Improve customization (more outfit parts, more items, add upper and lower parts from full outfits, etc).

I honestly hope I made myself clear on that. I do not want to see Tekken 8 burning down and I wish it a long longevity through updates, upgrades and additional content. But microtransactions aren't the way. At least not for me, as I wish to earn stuff on my own and fairly, through earning it in game rather than throwing my wallet on the screen. I do not intend to throw down people who have a differing opinion on this, more so I'd like to see a proper discussion about this rather than having all sides shutting each other down with insults and brainless explanations. I believe in meritocracy, in earning stuff fair and square. And I believe gaming should lead by example in this, but if you can buy outfits right off the bat without any right of earning it, then it doesn't feel right at all.

I hope we can all have a civilized discussion about this. I really want to have my joy in playing the game and ignoring customization or any other feature in the game isn't a way for me.

Yours Sincerely,
Lukáš Macek

The hate for microtransations came from loot boxes where you could gamble for powerful items and characters.

As long as we don’t have surprise mechanics and pay only for a chance to win OP p2w characters then I don’t see a problem. There is no gambling involved and we know what DLC costumes we are buying (or not). Similar to any other game with DLC costumes.

We should have the option to earn the pReMiUm currency by playing, yes.

Or, at the very least, the ability to purchase shop items with the default fight money.

I have like 108M fight money with nothing worthwhile to spend it on. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks.

He he, no.

I do not want a battle pass with 'free' and 'premium' stuff. I do not want these scummy practices, I do not want any of these 'modern' corpo nonsense.
