Seeking advice on a Playstation controller

Hello reader,

Plans to pick up a new character have been slightly handicapped by my old Playstation controller finally giving up the ghost. The arrow buttons are now jammed so that it's always holding right. I'd been long overdue for a replacement anyway, but this one is now very hackneyed.

For people who like Playstation style controllers, what would you recommend as a replacement? The newest PS controller looks like an XBox controller, and I worry I won't like using it since I'm used to the classic shape. Is the PS4 controller still champ, or are there better options now?

The PS version of the Victrix ProCon BFG is great.

Also, fight sticks and leverless (hitbox) controllers are also fantastic. Both are really fun for playing Tekken.

used a DS4 for the longest time and switched to dual sense. it's basically the same but much more comfortable and you can wire it with a usb c cable which i like very much.

playing tekken with it and enjoying the d-pad so far. would recommend. let's face it: there is nothing better in that price range and if you want something specific for tekken then you could go balls deep and get a fighting stick.

i use super cheap ebay ps4 controllers. works fine for me. dpwnside is that the analog sticks are garbage but who uses those for a fighting game?

I know hitboxes are better for execution, but I think my brain is just too wired for controller at this point - and my living space is limited. Thank you for the responses though!

I could use some help - I got a PS4 controller but the flashing lights of its lightbar are horrendously distracting while I try to play. I've gone to steam settings and turned its brightness+saturation down to zero but it has made no difference at all. It still just has the blinding blue strobe whenever I'm in a match.

Do any PS4 controller owners know a fix? Best I've come up with is putting duct tape over it, which is not ideal.

Between my controller being ?????, dissatisfaction with game balance, the sneaky cash shop, and the game being about as stable as a teenage relationship, I'm feeling a bit demoralised about this game :(

If you really love your controller. Your controller issues seems fixable by cleaning and swapping parts.

I mean its worth the try before investing in a new controller.
