Why bother with a 1000+ roster if everyone and their grandma will keep playing only the same characters, over and over?
Thank ♥♥♥♥ the game has plenty of offline game modes so we can dodge crap such as this, from time to time.
All fighting games lose a tone of players in the first weeks.
Casuals finish the offline mode and move on.
All we need is 4000 dedicated players to keep ranked going for years.
If there are 10k concurrent players in a year, it's more than enough. Also, the steam player count doesn't include ps5 players, so there are actually a lot more people online.
