An easy launcher is a fast launcher that can be thrown while moving around to try to catch your opponent off guard, or to punish.
Watch people play most characters and see how they throw df2s and hopkicks constantly to get a free launcher on neutral. Watch people play Bryan (even Knee or Ty) and see how many times they use Jet Upper. Almost never. It’s used in SS sometimes to whiff punish but that’s pretty much it.
Even as a punishing tool buffering FB2 isn’t as natural as DF2 or CD2. On paper it’s a hell of a punishing tool, on practice I don’t know why we don’t see it more often. And it’s not a rhetorical thought. I really wonder why Jet Upper isn’t as overused as other general launchers, if it’s so good.
I don’t know if it’s because of a “uncomfortable” input or not but the reality is that Jet Upper definitely isn’t used the same way DF2 general launcher is.
Like I said before, I don’t think Bryan is technical because of execution but because of gameplan.
Just look at Ty_tekken, bro steps every ff move and taunt jet uppers, Bryan is still the sickest character
Crazy distance. Crazy mind games. Immune to parry/sabaki since most of his staples are knees and elbows.
He has a Crazy oki especially at the wall.
Crazy taunt game
Heavy damage
Good pokes
His only weakness is ssl on range 3.
