Hex edit polaris-win64-shipping.exe find 0F 84 A5 00 00 00 F3 0F 10 51 48 numbers, change 84 to 85

You can have the 32:9 as described in the post. And to preserve vertical fov, just add

AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV

But in doing this, what used to be 32:9 naively (arcade, main menu, customization) will be 16:9; but the fights will be in 32:9.

No. You don't run hex editor while game is running. As far as I know haven't heard of any bans
