So she kinda got extreme attention compared to even the other mishimas.
But truth be told, most waifu players that play Reina now will eventually drop her because she's too hard.
As for what's fun about Mishimas I'd say high execution with big bursts of damage off while also being "honest" in their gameplay.
There is also the lore/design side which sees them as uncompromising villanous badasses that only care about strength and the electricity thing is cool in general.
They're also arguably the protagonists of Tekken since the whole story is built around their tournament.
Cool character designs.
Flashy move animations.
High skill ceiling and potential for skill expression.
Yup, this. They are really-well designed and by now fleshed-out characters.
I always avoided them because they have pretty high execution demands, but I will go for Kazuya and Reina this time around and put some real effort in.
Kazuya is actually a really cool antagonist with a crazy good expressive voice actor and Reina's design is so well done, an arrogant, borderline psychopathic baby-Heihaci
It’s like playing Super Mario Bros. since the beginning, or Donkey Kong. It’s not like I play as him in every game he is in.
“OmG theRe is a new Mario game coMing Out. I so need to buy it and waste $59.99. Idc it’s overpriced. It’s Mario”. I’m not like that.
Many of these kids weren’t there since the “beginning”, but pick him because it’s Mario. The colours and being iconic. It’s why many are Nintendo fanboys and chose ONLY Nintendo and nothing else.
You mentioned Ryu and Ken. Yeah same sh**. Still, I’ve played SF since the beginning, but they are not my mains. I don’t buy SF because of Ryu and Ken.
Every character here listed are overrated in popularity, and I don’t know why. They are, whatever to me.
If they were not the ‘it’ characters since the beginning in these games, but showed up later as a DLC, I doubt they would be popular like they are today. So why are they infamous/famous?
Character design. They look cool. And again in my previous post here: kids and young adults go after COOL looking characters. Boring. Lame excuse. They also think pulling off hard combos makes them better and stronger.
It’s the same with Batman vs Spider-Man. Cool design. Shoots webs. Swings. Everyone loves Spider-Man (not me). Or Soldier vs eight other classes in TF2. Soldier will be picked more over the classes. And yet, Soldier would be wrecked by four or five of these classes.
Pyro would win
Sniper would likely win
Scout would win
Heavy would win
Demo would win
Reina however is fantastic.
Altho i like his no devil powers version more. Wish they just gave him kazama style instead of devil jin style. Even tho i think his devil jin style moves are quite op right now.
I generally like playing the minor/loser characters in games though, like Dan in SF. T7 totally had me falling in love with Lars.
