Instant throw breaks
Did people really get that good at breaking throws in low/mid ranks or are most players I encounter just using scripts? I consider myself pretty decent at breaking throws, but even I can't instant break throws most of the time.

Most people mash 1+2 so it's very common. Most people got better at throw breaks because people will throw loop you in this game

The weird thing is however that either I encounter people that can't break throws at all, or people who always break throws instantly without any frames of throw animations, even those with bad defensive fundamentals. It just feels so suspicious.

If you use generic throws, they were probably just already mashing 1 or 2, so they break it by accident. Less mash-happy players in low/mid don't have the experience and/or reaction to break a throw consistently. If you're using a command throw, most mid players would just mash 1+2 when they see it come out, so throw in a generic throw once in a while or a different throw if you have a complete throw game

I have tried that to figure out whether someone might be using scripts or not, and in some cases I genuinely think they are using auto throw break scripts, instant breaks on 1, 2 and 1+2 command throws all the time except on CH is just way too suspicious.

Scripts should also break it on CH, except if they power crushed or parried, when it's unbreakable. If you suspect foul play, you can also go back into replay and check their inputs, to see if it's anything unnatural about it.

There's another possibility, which I'm not sure how likely it is at this point, but it could be T7 veterans climbing through the ranks, and they just happen to also be great at recognizing the throw animation before it lands. I still can't do that tho, I usually just use game theory to try and guess, except with a few very telegraphed excepions

Mashing 1, 2 and 1 + 2 will make it way easier to break throws. Lots of people mash. There you go.

i'm still low rank
but this morning i break Jun's throws mlre than 10 times during out 3 match fight, maybe the opponent think i was using script too

Remember that new people play the game and som old folks still havent ranked up to their according skill. It is still a wild mix. I met a shiryu some days ago, that was just mashing. I've met eliminators that handed me a 70% combo. It is what it is.

We can go through the replays if you want and I can show you where they were breaking your stuff and why.
King's CH chain throws are buggged by the way

Someone mentioned the mashing, which happens to throw-break quite a bit.
The other possibility is that you're working in a pattern, where it's become predictable when you are going to throw.
It happens to me quite a bit when playing King, where I have to make a conscious effort to change up playstyle after a round, or I have to sometimes mix in low throws.

There are quite a few veterans still in the lower ranks, so don't let the points or label fool you. Some people languish in the lower ranks and stomp on new(er) players like you and me.

Oh I'm not new, I have 2k+ hours in Tekken 7 and more in previous titles. I know what I normally would expect from people breaking throws. But some in ranked are really fishy.

i heard raw throws have a generous window to break.

It’s luck.
I suck at breaking throws so I just guess.
Once in a while there is a match when I break almost every throw and the other player may wonder if I’m using a script.

But most of the time I don’t break any throws and people may wonder what such scrub is doing in their ranks.

Recommend doing throws out of a cancellable stance, backturn, or after teabagging. That’s when you really get a feel whether your opponent is a bot.
