Does anyone use the lounge?
I like the concept of it, but I don't really see the purpose of it if you're looking to actually play the game and not only socialize, since you can't chat or even practice while you're looking for matches in the lobby, and it feels like the matchmaking is less fluid and slower as well.

Can anyone give me a good breakdown / overview of the lobby and how you personally use it?

I just used it once to get an achievement. Gonna use it another time to unlock something in the gallery and that's it.

Unless you're part of some sort of Discord group or something there's really no point.

I could see it being useful for discord or lager groups I guess...

But yeah the overall menu/UI design and avatars are pretty lame for a 25+ year old fighting franchise.

They could have focused more on QoL and "functional fighting game spaces" instead of whatever the hell this turned out to be.

I was picturing more functionality and seamless drop-in and drop-out gameplay with multiple tekken titles across many skill levels and including social as well as gameplay reasons to be there. There seems to be none of that.

It's really nice to get in there and hang out, but the social aspect needs work.

Being able to see players chats while you're in a match would go a long long way.

After getting what I wanted i.e something for Tekken Ball, I decided to roam around the Lounge some more and it's WAY better than the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Hub from Street Fighter 6.

I kept fighting against Ghosts of other players over and over, for example and due to such a feature I believe the place is gonna be alive for a long time because you're not forced to get mopped by people WAY beyond your level until you can't take it anymore and quit. Again. Like the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Hub from Street Fighter 6.

The Ghost feature, even if it's still limited (mostly because 9/10 players haven't trained their Ghosts properly/at all) allows you to learn matchups and gimmicks at your own pace and have fun while doing so. It's pretty much Casual combined with Practice. I just wish you could earn offline rank points for your characters, there, like on Super Ghost Battle. I think I'd never leave the Lounge if Bamco ends up doing such a thing.

Would also be nice if Bamco ends up placing a couple of old Tekken games to play with other players/by yourself, there. My vote goes to Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag. Hands down.

The people in there seems to be more friendly, as well.

why tf you would want to be looking at a chat log while someone is beating the ♥♥♥♥ out of you is beyond me

I personally don't like it. Not after experiencing SF6 lobby that is perfect: casual games with unlimited rematching + capcom old arcade games + avatar fights.

If I want ranked then I go from the main menu.
If I want discord fights I open a custom room with FT5 or FT10 setting.

I don't see the point of the lobby.

I like going to the lounge very often. It's good for finding mains of particular characters.

But as I said before, they need to add a way to start / join classic lobbies.

Cause if I can't see the chat from people that're spectacting me in the lounge, I might as well just be in a Player Match session instead of bothering with the lounge. What else can I do in the lounge. AFK? I got FFXIV for that.
My friends and I hang out in there all the time. Just a chill place to relax and play some matches

Some online communities use it for tournaments and stuff.
lounge is a useful thing, the useful thing is that sometimes you can find an adequate one who will agree to play 50 games with you on a character you would like to learn to play against.
Never using it. Only ever gone in there to get an achivement as well as getting some cosmetics they placed NPC for in there.

I wish they removed the lounge and just stopped adding those avatar items to the pass which are useless.

I am constantly in this place. I'm looking for rated games only there. The benefit is that it’s easier to go into the graphics settings if the game suddenly lowers the settings during a battle

I don’t think they can remove it at this point.
But I hope they could improve it so it wouldn’t be such a worthless piece of doo doo for most people.
They can literally copy Capcom/StreetFighter6 to make it good.

In SF6 he is just as useless. There are no players there.

Tekken 8 has Tekken ball and co-op training, which is only available in the lounge. This motivates players to go there
