It’s funny how people make the same excuse for fighting games being locked at 60fps.
Download the overlay mod. You can play the game at an unlocked frame rate. No changes at all to moves or desync. Game is just smoother. Fighting games from now on should have an unlocked frame rate seriously.

I do like it being 60 fps capped, gives both pc players and cosole players the same ground, no excuses like "uhhh pc players have like 300 fps, what's why I lost !!!"

and 60 looks good enough

I wonder if people really see a problem with 60fps in fighting games with a static camera or their monitors can't handle 60fps well or it's just some kind of act.

most games runs 120+fps this days, but fighting games are just different.
I come from playing warzone at 140 fps daily for a entire year, going back to 60 was kinda shocking at first, but u get use to it.

Just like watching a 24 fps movie.

the only "funny" thing here is how clueless you are about how fighting games work

Terrible idea. Enjoy causing rollback frames and de-syncs and not getting rematches because your performance indicator is flashing red.

You ALWAYS want the game to run just below of what your GPU is capable of. Locked 120 or even 240 FPS would be fine if both players have it on and can maintain it at all times but you are playing people who can barely maintain 60 at 1440p.

In short, if you play at 120 FPS and your opponent plays at 60, you are essentially cheating while sabotaging the opponent by causing de-syncs and rollback frames.
Dude I’m literally getting rematches with everyone including console players. It’s no different than playing cod. People here seem to have no idea how frame data works

You’re the one clueless actually. Refresh rate =\= frames in in-game animations

I agree. It's not 1999 anymore. We can continue to use 60 FPS as the standard for talking about moves and their properties, but the game needs to be able to separate this from the actual frame rate.

So the virtual or "Tekken frames" would always remain 60, but should be made independent from the actual frame rate a user is running.

The mod is great but only do it if your pc can handle it or matches will lag worse than before.

+1
most ppl think display frame rate
and frame a for attack speed calculation are the same, which is not

Having more HZ is always an advantage and playing with higher FPS reduces the overall input in ms caused by your system. Can often easily been seen in the info graph turned on in Counter Strike. Or when using NVIDIA driver by pressing ALT + R to see the latency of the system. The higher the fps it reduces the overall latency, hence a quicker CPU is needed to handle those frames. The gain is not much so huge here I would say, but you should rather make sure that you have a good router and play on ethernet cable before you push unlimited FPS on your PC.
Some game engines are not designed to handle all these frames and problems can occur from game to game.

If you play ego shooters, always play uncapped and low settings for max FPS and reduced system latency.

Ping is much more important here since you can get the most advantage when you are able to press your attack button a few milliseconds earlier and the data hits the server quicker.

For Tekken 8 just keep it at 60 and make sure your ping is as good as possible. Upgrade to a very good router or buy a good network card can improve the ping.

Already quit a few people because of this.

You can tell because it is a consistent 1 rollback frame it adds.

This causes wayy more issues than it sounds like it would.

Yet people like OP who have no idea how this stuff works and are green ranks so to them it doesn't matter are annoying.

It's even more annoying when they convince high rank players it doesn't change anything and I'm getting artificial rollback for their "Smoother frames"

Adding any rollback is outright CHEATING.

End of story.

I'm on fiber Ethernet and got a higher rank than you'll ever get.

Your steam account also stinks of a fresh cheater account.

So wasn't your first time huh?
