Dragunov players are carried hard
When its "their turn" or they get a lucky launch, then they can pressure and mash non-stop, strangely always being on plus - but once they are forced to play fair Tekken or must defend they lose lmao... noobs

We heard this one at Tekken 7 launch but when dust settled and people learned the game everyone found out that he is effectively unplayable as a character.

Not that much changed in Tekken 8 although nice changes happened. Can't deny that his wall damage leaped from weakest in the game to maybe the strongest, nor that I counted everybody.

He is still too slow and vulnerable and going to lose any mashing contest.
You know what happened? He got nerfed
Yes they are. However, if you utilize stepping, you can deal with a lot of his shenanigans. Without stepping, Dragunov will run you over.

he has d2 and ff3 for that to shut down you steps
Welp. Time to learn Dragunov, then.

He never needed nerfs in the first place. People just didn't know how to play.

But neither help him vs step into df that allow you to launch both of those. Or just df2 him or hopkick him - also beats both options.

Now he needs i can't believe you really defend him rn he plays himself qcf4 easy +7 mid try to step? Eat ff3 15 chip dmg and +5 cause yes he really needs that then high crush homing d2 iwr is super easy and if you try to step it ff3 says hello then db3+4 +7 on normal hit with stun and decent tracking unreactable this has to be fixed
First of all I didn't said he definitely doesn't need or need nerf.

Second of all he got stronger but other characters are as strong, and even stronger.

D2 is not homing, never was and now -1 on HIT. For insignificant damage you put YOURSELF at disadvantage vs characters that have as dangerous stuff as him or worse.

Have you met jun? Have you met victor? Have you met Reina?

Qcf 4 is slow, beaten by everything. You can launch him randomly if he attempt either qcf 4 or db4+3 or wr2.

And how do you even eat ff3. Maybe I should try using it... Nah, will get launched every time. Btw iwr and ff3 both will lose to any 15 frames launcher or any fast counter hit.

How can you have problem with Dragunov when you can just win him by mashing?
hes def too strong. and he plays basic tekken so he has the advantage this early in the game.

of i didn't read the topic, i thought you talk about Hwoarang

Hwoarang players have literally just turned into block string bots. Doesnt even feel like you're fighting a person anymore, just a series of block strings

Like always same stuff and gotta backdash away, sidestep and take some guesses during f4/d34/db4/12 f3/ uf4 etc stance pressure

I find new armoured moves to be very strong against Dragunov and most hard hitting, plus on block moves. It's so much easier to deal with that now than in T7.
Same with moves like Victor big sword slash. Some good players try to side step or punish on block but generally struggling when trying to play like in T7 when you can simply armour trough such attacks.

I don't understand the sentiment of people here. tierlists exist for a reason. ofc some dude sitting in the top 1% with thousands of hours of practise and experience can overcome it but then again like the vast majority are not there. take mobas for example. you can either learn a low tier character and suffer while trying to get better or play a much easier character that requires less effort. the vast majority of humanity chooses easy over effort.
This is truth but also, OP, welcome to the FGC. The good thing about everyone playing top tiers is you get extra practice against them so the matchup becomes easier over time.

Okay I labbed him a bit and didn't really liked it. Feels like the same old boring Dragunov from when he first showed up. Bryan, Law, Azucena, Victor and Raven do a MUCH better job at the rushdown style than Dragunov, imo.

In conclusion, he's OP only in the hands of OP players. That's all. And that's a fact for pretty much all sorts of characters, even the "♥♥♥♥-tiers".

Dragunov carries his players hard that is true.

But the way he carries them is by teaching them fundamental Tekken while bieng at constant disadvantage.

Dragunovs who came from Tekken 7 are used to play character demanding bieng a level or two above your opponent just to have an equal match.

Now that Dragunov actually got few moves that just work people used to him bieng completely helpless are in panic.
