Do not accept wifi connections
Whatever you do , do not accept wireless connections , let the animals fight among each other .

You wouldn't and not all wifi connections are bad. I'm wired but on WiFi I have an avg of 26ms of latency which is better than most people on Ethernet. On Ethernet I have an avg of 11ms. Phat pipe!

the issue with wifi isn't the averages, but the spikes
a solid average of 50 ish is better than an average of 15 with the occasional spike to 300
that said i just play everyone tho, for me is like, worst case if the match is really bad then it only took a couple of minutes and i just won't rematch

This game throttles way harder than games much like SF6 against wifis. The game needs to be in full sync just to function. From stage, stage mechanics to inputs. If you want to use wifis be my guest, but I aint matching.

Your connection is gonners when your mom puts in the hotpocket in a microwave for late night snack.

true but a high end router can take care of that. networking is my profession..well security is but i had to get all my networking/admin certs for that.

honestly if you wanna maximize perf on windows you should disable nagles algorithm (at least do that one), change network throttle index and system responsiveness (network), edit the SizeReqBuf reg key, DefaultTTL to 24-32 down from 128, or lower, and usually enable jumbO packets for good measure but that last one usually doesnt effect gaming... should make a network topic...

It's kind of easier to just tell people "use a cable"

yes, instant decline for me.
Killjoy Feb 1, 2024 @ 7:01pm
Yea, even if it's a good connection wifi does spike into lag alot.

Let the trash ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on wifi enjoy their losses due to lag.

Maybe mommy will buy them a 5$ ethernet cable.
1 match to test the connection, continue if its gud

No you don't have an average of 26ms, it can spike to 80+ at any time since wifi is erratic and absolute not near as stable as ethernet.

ill bet you $1000 my wifi has lower latency than your ethernet :Toxic_Geralt:

insulting people for not having ethernet is pretty pathetic. preferring it is one thing but dont be... that. Not everyone can even technically do it because of where the connection for their modem comes in. Running ethernet through floors walls and ceilings isn't exactly easy or always possible and not everyone's mommy is their slave and puts the comcast modem/router in their bedroom so the light can keep them safe at night. most people playing are likely on wifi so you can check numbers on join all you want, it doesnt mean a thing. chances are the game is logging people dropping from lobbies and matching you with worse people because of it, its been common in AAA games for years.

You have jitter, that's the problem. Stop talkin ♥♥♥♥ when you don't even know what the problem is.

Ping google 100 times in command prompt. My wired connection has no more than 1ms difference between pings. Wifi you'll probably have 2-3ms difference between each with up to 100ms spikes at times

like i said i work in networking and i know exactly what im talking about. 2ms huh lol..ok well at 26ms when im on wifi my ping is better than 99% of peoples on ethernet and my jitter is over 48 hours was always below 30ms to a sever 1400 miles away and my ethernet ping is 11ms avg, 18 peak over 48 hours to the same server as of Nov 19-21 and 21-23 2023 according to my notes.

There is more latency being added by lax rules in your OS than wifi and you will never notice 2ms in either direction when playing vs someone. The bigger issue is overall connection quality from wall to # of hops before it exits your isp network on the avg node based topography of the USA and most other places for that matter. Your neighboor watching naughty videos between 1pm and 1030pm is doing more damage than this dudes wifi

Every time there's more than 16ms of jitter it desyncs. If it's up to 30ms that's a difference of 2 rollback frames mid match. It feels like absolute ass for your opponent
