What exactly is a group match?

So in the lounge, if you approach the purple arcade machines, it lets you play a "group match". Basically non-ranked fight against random opponents it finds.

But then there are also yellow aracade machines, and they give you the option to play:
- Ranked match
- Quick match

So, then what is the group match for? Isn't it basically the same thing as quick match?

Group match allows you to play with people in the arcade with you. There are 2 types of group match machines. There are the ones you see in a group of 8. So if any of those seats are taken those are the players you are fighting against. Then there is the 1v1's which are the machines back to back. And you only play the person that sits in the opposite seat.

Quick and ranked match you play someone around the world

you play group vs the guy opposite.
If its the circle one, you play anyone in the circle. and i think theres another one with 2 lines of 5 and they all play with eachother.

If still unsure just look at the character on the arcade machine. you sitting there will link up with machines with teh same character picture. (for group matches only)

Quickmatch is vs anyone who is also doing quick match. maybe in a different room etc.
and ranked is ranked.

group- battle is like quick match but you are matched with people using the machines in the purple floor circle instead of your region. useful if you want to play in other regions since you will be matched by someone in the lobby using the machine in the group.
