I'm going back to SF6
Reached Warrior rank and now mistakes aren't allowed anymore. At least in SF6 reaching Diamond felt like an accomplishment.

Things that don't makes sense to me in T8:

Ranking System:
So as Warrior rank, losing against a 2nd Dan who is many ranks below me doesn't demote me but beating him will promote me? But beating a Tenryu barely gives points and also losing demotes me???? Seems like it's supposed to be there other way around.

Hyper armor is never clear:
Unlike SF6 where it's clear what moves have hyper armor, this game just likes to make up it's own rules on the spot. Whether an attack goes through hyper armor or not. It's never clear.

The graphic:
Yes it looks good, but in gameplay the sparks and stuff are a bit too much at times. Also fighting characters like Jack-8 and Devil Jin gives me a headache with how they zip around.

The characters:
They are all fundamentally the same, unlike street fighter where each character has their own play style and speed. You'd think a character like Jack-8/kuma/Panda would be slow but powerful but nope still fast and the same like everyone. The only depth I can think of is EWG moves and certain counters.

Don't get me wrong this isn't a bad game but I don't it's for me.

Have fun playing against a non stop stream of Ken and JP players

Also have fun with the modern controls.

So priceless. This is hilarious how the endless release cycle repeats itself.

Edit: Meanwhile I can't get a single opponent in Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Everyone have their bandwagons :D

I honestly don’t understand your reply and how’s it’s remotely relevant to my comment

Each character has a different martial arts style. It's so obvious.

I was just going to ask OP to explain how every character is "the same" lol

"Every character is the same" Not really. There are basic tools that most characters have, but they don't all play the same. With that logic everybody in SF6 also plays the same because every character revolves around drive rush into overhead/throw/frame trap.

In Tekken 8 specifically, I think the characters have become so well rounded that they do largely play the same.

Universal game release cycle. A game is released, people are very excited just before it, continue to be very excited when the game launches, and finally sort of disappointed and like in a hangover.

These comments could be in any game forum, if the game have PvP.

Ranks at this time are highly volatile, a lot of new players and pros are playing right now at low levels and people dont have enough games clocked on thier accounts so you will get random assed promos/demos for a bit the good news is rank is serverside not clientside so save scumming is a thing of the past and you can be proud to hit a rank.

Armoured moves have a few frames of vulnerable startup, then become armoured. this used to be (to my knowledge) somewhere in the region of 8f startup (not sure in this game), then armoured for the rest. they can be over prioritised by grabs,Heat activation/burst or rage arts. you can also knock someone out of an armoured move with a grab or a low attack.

There are options available and probably mods now that can tone this town, hit sparks genuinely mean something, they will indicate specific properties that the player is performing such as tracking, heat activating moves, unblockables etc.

Listen, it's fine if you feel the game isnt for you, however in all the years this game has been out every character is "fundamentally the same" in the sense that they all have 10/12/13/14/15/16f punishers then beyond that they have a specific playstyle that makes them unique. It's legitimately your own fault for not realising this. Lets take yoshimitsu (my main) for example. he now has 193 listed moves and no yoshimitsu player ever plays the same because he has a lot of freedom. he doesnt play like any other character on the roster. Mishimas are the only ones that have had roughly similar gamestyles and that was largely different a few games ago. The bears have picked up this mishima-esque playstyle due to lore. as for jack-8 he has his own strategies. You are literally too new to differentiate this factor and your actual problem seems to be the fact that you think "everyone is fast".

How you play is usually the defining factor and if you like to play in a super simplified fashion then SF6 is more than enough for you. I personally cant get along with that game because my brain falls asleep. SF has been dead to me since they butchered sf5 at launch.

Funny for me it's the opposite i don't think i can go back to SF6 after this.

the defensive play is much more my style you can duck, sidetep or use evasive moves to slip out of preassure also bbecause it's 3D there's no ''oh damn i blocked no he gets 3 drive rushes and 3 mixups for free''

I also like the music better none of the character themes from SF5 remotely sound like they used to the did a SF4 to SF5 Juri theme on everyone If you had me listen to SF6 music i couldn't tell you what character goes with what music.
And here not only do i like the music of T8 but if you don't you can make a playlist from all the music from the entire series to fit your taste.

The only negative i have about T8 is the netcode it's fine 90% of the time but SF6's netcode is just about as perfect as you can get so it's hard to beat that.

Also the fact that there hasn't been a single balance patch for months while 70% of tournaments are Ken and Luke players speaks volumes to me.

I prefer this game to SF6 because in SF6 it can be boring and downright frustrating to deal with players who run and projectile spam the entire match. Some matchups were definitely unfair as well.

Here? You can’t really run away and it just forces you to face your opponents head on. This series has some of the most satisfying movement I’ve seen in a fighting game

The game is not easy, the ranking system is broken for us lower/beginners a bit yes, but the rest of the game feels great in my opinion.
Why does the game feel so bad is the skill gap. If you would play Counter Strike against global elite players you would also have no chance at all. Is CS therefore a bad game? No it is not.
If the game makes no fun for you, take a break or dont play ranked anymore.
Even me as a beginner feels that the characters play different and are of course not all the same.

Funny. I ain't coming back to SF6 that soon.
Gleap 31 jan. 2024 às 12:37
Yeah I definitely enjoy SF6 more but I am going to mess around and improve some more on T8 because its common at my locals.
