King Question

This is my first tekken so, I may be missing something, but when King does this long grapple that seemingly goes on and on, how do you escape it? Someone told me you need to hit the button to escape from grapples. Is it timed though? Do I need to do it at a specific point?

you just mash 1 or 2 (left punch or right punch). Most Kings are button mashing the chain throw which means mashing 1 will usually set you free

In Tekken you can break grabs by pressing either 1, 2 or 1+2 when you get grabbed and yu see the purple flaash provided you aren't doing an any attack.

King's chain grabs transition between 3 grabs and in between those you can break free there isn't a really 100% way because the king player chooses what grabs to use in the chain.
I just mash the buttons and sometimes i get out somestimes i don't.

Also King's chain grabs are high IIRC so if you get a feeling he's going for a grab you can duck and punish.

there's a window where ur supposed to but there's no point memorizing it. Just mash the button and if u press it during the window u will break it
