Also 3440x1440 is also not 21:9 its 43:18 aspect ratio
The only true 21:9 aspect ratio is 2560x1080
Also the argument that they did this cos anything wider then 21:9 gives advantage is invalid if it really was the case they would've never added ultrawide support.
I totally encourage community manager if active here to contact devs and have chat with them, getting this fixed afterall they already added ultrawide support why stop there add 24:10 and 43:18 aspect ratio support. while at it also 32:9 aspect ratio support.
And if seeing the walls sooner then non ultrawide users really gives an advantage give an option to see how many distance you are from wall thru indicator as option when playing on non ultrawide for example should not be that hard no ?
Anyway the lack of a proper PC port in this case the lack of proper ultrawide support is main reason i haven't pre ordered and let alone is main reason im not buying this game anytime soon, probably will wait a year least for big sale or for when ultrawide support is fixed.
devs should be aware that ultrawide support is not only 21:9 or even 32:9 there also ultrawide resolutions that are slightly more wide then 21:9 but less wide then 32:9
Come on let me play this game at fullscreen without any pilarboxing just remove the pilar boxing after loading screens and during gameplay there no need for pilarboxing.
They already support it in menus such as main menu etc.
And yes if checked with the demo
Expecting more then just 21:9 aspect ratio support.
also the black bars are as thick as your finger, i doubt there is any good reason at all to fix ultrawide support fully including adding support for 32:9
