GTX1060 6GB pc cannot hit 60 fps consistent
Hello, i need help for some advice my friend's PC could not reach 60 FPS consistent despite putting all graphics to LOW and with FSR 2 On

PC SPECS:
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz
Memory: 16 GB RAM (15.94 GB RAM usable)
Installed on SATA SSD

Not sure what is going on, could be the game unable to run good on GTX1060 anymore or his PC is having other issues.
Yes we have updated drivers and disabled fullscreen optimizations.

Well he's running a UE5 game on 3 gen old hardware.
And even back then the 1060 was the entry level card, so it's gonna struggle.

I heard there's a potato performance mod out there. Maybe on nexusmods? Install that and check the optimization video/guide post on this forum.

It's not the 1060 that's giving him garbage performance(albeit, the 1060 is still bad in 2024) It's the i7-6700K. That CPU is old and garbage. An i3-13100 smokes it. Upgrade your CPU and you'll hit 60 consistently.

I heard the latest nvidia drivers have issues, get the ones right before them.

GTX 1060 here as well! I am able to get consistent 59 fps but I have to lower the resolution down to 1366 x 768. TSA upscale, AA settings at high, and mid for post process. Low everything else.

The fps is never 60, like Im capped at 59 for some reason.

Its not pretty but still look better than 1920 with everything set to low (without some AA and post process it looks complete garbage.)

I prioritized fps because I dont want to upset ppl who play against me.

a lot of graphics cards are struggling with the game that's for sure.
I'm hoping that they patch whatever it's causing these framerate drops.
  • 3060 ti 12gb vram
  • amd 7 5800X
  • 64gb of ram (i need it for cluster deployments - trust me bro)
  • high preset drops from 60 to 50 fps
  • ultra preset drops to 40 only against victor and some other characters with crazy vfx
edit: as many said consider upgrading your cpu, it's def bottlenecking your pc

Even 1080s can't run this game. You gotta upgrade. I got 692 score with 3080 and it said Ultra, but I put it on High just to be safe

Should run a diagnostic software like afterburner and look a the metrics to truly rule out GPU. If GPU is at 99% the it's GPU being the bottleneck. If not, it's another bottleneck. Not buying the CPU being too weak considering Steam deck can run 60fps at medium with TSR at like 70% and it's weaker than a 4770K stock. 6700K is also overclockable. 4.8ghz should be attainable pretty easily. Yes, 6700K is long in the tooth, but I mean, overclock that bastard before just retiring it, if still serves you fine in every other regard. Heck, you can even OC the GPU too with afterburner. Might not net much performance, but worth a shot.

Also, try TSR over FSR2. It's better visual quality for sure. Try 50% scale with it and see how it stacks up.

If even all low and upscaled and GPU is not full use, check CPU/ Memory:
Are you running your RAM at xmp speeds, or 2133mhz stock?,A lot of people gloss over this and just say the memory amount- it doesn't really matter sub 16GB. Are you also running the sticks in the right slots, aka staggered with one stick to each lane?

Lastly, this helped a great deal for me as i was getting bad frame pacing, was setting a frame target lock via either Nvidia control panel, or using a software called RTSS. It comes paired with MSI afterburner and allows you to put an overlay on your game to view things like resources, temperatures, and speeds of your hardware in real time.

All in all, yeah, PC is old, but there's stuff to fiddle with if you have the patience. I'm assuming you're runnign at 1080p as well. 1440p would definitely be a massive stretch for the GPU

if i can run it on ultra at 4k DLSS at 4K on a 3090 with a 3900x at 60fps no he doesn't need to upgrade his CPU...

Is it occasional drop? I'm also experiencing. But not all the time, only when changing stages. Because if I select rematch, the issue is not coming. This is in offline mode.

3060 Ti 12GB doesn't exist, unless you got it from a chinese warehouse. I'm going to assume you mean the regular 3060. Which makes sense. The 3060 is a 1080p GPU, in Street Fighter 6 4K plays at 40 fps with stutters.

You could decrease the quality to 1440p and enjoy stable 60 fps. But if you're sticking with 4K, DLSS balanced in settings is your best bet.
