Yeah I legit think MK1 has better netcode, which is sad.
Or Victor. So many mashing idiots playing him.
That said, the game does warn you if someone's on wifi, you knew the risks when you accepted the match.
I’ve played red connection Wi-Fi players in SF6 in the hub area and people just warp all over the place
There is no miracle netcode that makes a Wi-Fi opponent half way across the world playable
SF6 has the worst region locked ranked settings I’ve seen. They’re so confident with their netcode they don’t let you play anyone that isn’t remotely close to you
To be fair, I live in norway and I've got a friend out in arizona who I sometimes play fighting games with, both SF and Tekken 8 are pretty smooth under these conditions.
Ping averages around 200 something, both games remain playable.
Despite all this I still see pro SF6 players defaulting to the ugly training stage to minimise lag
The game cuts graphical fidelity when online, for example the characters getting dirty or bruised is completely removed online as are various background details
Tekken 8 makes no compromises, you have all this incredible fidelity, destructible objects and environmental damage etc. yet none of this is taking into consideration by people who ignorantly compare the netcode
Dunno about you guys but I like to see some fidelity online, I’m not burning out my retinas looking at a grey background all day like SF6 pros
This games netcode could definitely be a LOT better, but comparing it to smash ultimate is not fair in the slightest, that games netcode was terrible with ethernet, and completely unplayable on wifi
just don't accept games from wifi players, didn't get that option in smash
* Use a Powerline adapter
For about 15$ you can get the cheapest options. Obviously do some research and find what’s best for you. At least, you won’t just be a wifi player - you’ll be one that tried. Blessed day 🙏
