Several former Dead or Alive designers left Team Ninja/Koei Tecmo and joined the Tekken 8 team, like Shimbori. So if you see similarities in female design now that's not a coincidence.

As for the females I don't see the issue, this is how Japanese games would look all throughout the '90s and '00s. Go play SF6 if you like what you see there more. Not every fighting game has to look like each other, some devs are sticking to their roots and that's fine.

This isn't a response to anyone in particular but I think from now on anyone that wants to say that female characters in video games have 'unrealistic' body proportions should also state what country they are from. The averages for breast size, butt size etc vary from country to country and race to race. As black African man, I've seen tons of big tits, tons of fat asses and in high school, I dated a girl with an outrageously hourglassy figure. Check out Stellar Blade. The protagonist does have the proportions in the 3rd video, which is very rare to see in AAA games

Tekken has always been more conservative, "fan service" is discrete and minimum.

- Street Fighter.
In SFV capcom released cammy and chu-li with extra jiggle physics, both had "nippls" due the bump map texture file, yes the developers did that, then the camera angles at very specific zones of their body during skills and finishers. the famous mika's buttslap screen and more, everything was nerfed later cuz western political correctness crying about how bad was portrying the characters like that. SF6 is not much different tbh, cammy and juri have revealing outfits as usual.

- King Of Fighters
KOFXIV and KOFXV are similar to SF franchise, loots of jiggle and suggestive themes, just look at Mai.

- Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat franchise abandoned that "path" long ago, last obscene Mortal Kombat game was mortal kombat 9 in 2009 iirc, which is no longer available to purchase here on steam probably cuz the license for characters like freddy krueger expired (same dumb thing has happened with the Deadpool game, ubisoft doesn't have the rights for deadpool anymore so you can't buy it, or the friday the 13th game being delisted back in december most likely due license expiring).

- Samurai Shodown
Latest game has fanservice but not so many characters, no surprise here its from same publisher as KOF franchise and character design is pretty much the same.

- Killer Instinct
It's bit old already and i didn't even know there was a killer instinct game for PC on steam till two years ago iirc. This game got the same treatment as new mortal kombat games or Tekken, just mild suggestive themes, you won't see much skin in this game but they added some more revealing skins later probably cuz they realized the game wasn't getting much attention. Killer Instinct 2 featured a very revealing b.orchid and maya characters.

- Guilty Gear series
Lots of obscene stuff, maybe not as much as SF or KoF but the jack o pose alone or i-no removing her shirt is more than anything that tekken or MK has to offer in terms of "fan service".

- Soul Calibur series
Fan service everywhere with every fem toon, since Soul calibur 2, and this game is a good example of WHY not even the fan service (suggestive, sexual themes) will keep a game alive. Soul Calibur VI is very abandoned already despite having so much jiggle physics, built-in Nvidia Ansei features to pause the game and take 4k screenshots, rotate camera ingame etc and have a 4k wallpaper with your fav soul calibur waifu.

- Dead or Alive
no need to say anything about this series, probably the most degenerate of all the well known fighting games and again another example of how not even that will keep the game alive, maybe still a thing in japan but here?nah, game is deserted.

So maybe it's a good thing that Tekken doesn't rely much on suggestive stuff.
