I don't understand parries
I'm new to tekken and I've been playing ranked trying to get better. Currently I'm struggling with parries and I'm not sure how to counter/avoid them. I got clapped by an asuka that was just spamming it non-stop lol. Please help

Edit: Thanks for the advice down below. I went into the replays and learned how to counter the parries using the advice given

im new to tekken as well but the regular fighting game method to get around parries is to throw them or go for a low/high instead of the height they are parrying at.

if you die from parries that mean's you're too predictable

or the opponent is doing flowcharts on you

I don't think its that I think op is just new to the point that they literally don't know how parries mechanically work and that you can attack around them.

I've been learning the timing of the LOWS for parries, and what I'll recommend you to do is to go to Training, and check the move of the character that is hitting you or that you are trying to parry so you can get the timing right.

The thing is that you can parry when it's about to hit you but again, you need to "get the timing right", which you can practice in Training. Select Asuka and program the dummy to do the move that you are trying to parry.

Exactly, I can see them do the parry (they make a stance and have a white glow i think right) but have no clue what to do lol.

If they like spamming parries, try to bait it out and play a bit more patient. It is launch punishable because there is a window where the parry loses its effects

simply put you bait the parry and punish
